[Bug 196033] Re: Cannot take screen shot if Drop Down menu is dropped

2008-02-27 Thread Parthan
I can confirm this bug. When any of the drop down menu is present (i.e.
menu is out and dropped), the print screen button does nothing when
pressed. When I undrop the menu and press the print screen button, it
shows the print screen dialog box to save the printer screen.

[Bug 196040] [NEW] Zoom Level Menu shows empty space if window is docked to top of desktop

2008-02-27 Thread mario
Public bug reported:

If the evince viewer window is docked @ the top of the desktop screen
and you click the Zoom Level drop down, the drop down menu has a bunch
of empty space at the bottom.

Steps to reproduce:
 - In a default Ubuntu install, login and open a PDF
 - Move the Evince window down so it is not near the top of the screen
 - Click the Zoom Level drop down
Result: All Zoom sizes and options are displayed correctly.
 - Now move the Evince window to the top of the screen so that the Title bar is
touching the top panel. (see screenshot.png attached for example)
 - Click the Zoom Level drop down

Result: Zoom Level drop down pops up, and shows a bunch of empty space
under it. It appears that the extra space is equal to the amount of the
menu that is covered under the top panel bar.

Expected: Instead of popping UNDER the top panel bar, pop the menu up
with the top of the menu just under the title bar... i think this would
fix the extra space problem?

Note: I cannot provide a screen shot of the bad behavior due to this bug:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-utils/+bug/196033
Contact me if you need help.

Additional info:
I'm using a Dell latitude D531 (ATI video card)
Compiz fusion is installed, but i have it disabled.

[Bug 195788] Re: Evolution 2.21.92 (hardy) crashes when attaching MS-Office files

2008-02-27 Thread hggdh
thank you, Effenberg. Unfortunately we are still missing some debug
packages. from the offending thread, I can see we do not have resolution
to the Evo* libraries, specifically the E-D-S-related ones.

Please install either e-d-s .dbg, or *all* individual debug libraries
(libcamel, libebook, libecal, libedata*, etc).

Also, interestingly, libg* symbols did not get resolved on the
backtrace. I do not know why, since I can see the affected debug
libraries being loaded. Ah well.

I think I can live without the libg* symbols, at least for now, but we
*do* need the evolution libraries completely resolved. The bt full will,
then, allow me to follow the code.

Also, please do not forget to give us he output of 'uname -a'.

Thank you again for your prompt response.

p.s. (I wonder if localisation is playing a role here... I see at least
one message in Portuguese)

[Bug 195991] Re: nautilus crashes on media preview

2008-02-27 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or
challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these
instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can
be dealt with by the automatic retracer.

If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus
and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report
you wish to submit.
If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using
/usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a
terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report.

I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will
automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more
efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.

[Bug 196064] [NEW] Power Manager applet appears and shows the wrong initial information

2008-02-27 Thread Shot
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

After logging in to GNOME on a charged, plugged-in laptop, the Power
Manager applet shows the discharging battery icon (although it’s set to
only display the icon when it’s charging or discharging) and reports
it’s discharging in the popup.

After uplugging the power cord and plugging it in again, the icon
disappears (properly).

This is with Hardy’s gnome-panel 1:2.21.92-0ubuntu1 (and I’m pretty sure
this is the version that introduced this bug, as it was working properly
with the previous version).

I've experienced this bug. I just realized gnome-terminal was using

[Bug 155709] Re: Taking a long time to open Nautilus windows

2008-02-27 Thread iskalec1
I had the same problem. 10 second waiting was killing me.
My problem was network settings.

I'm newbee, so don't expect expert description. I use mint (mint=ubuntu)
I lunched
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ gksu network-admin
At general it was:
hostname: bonimint
domain: bnnb
At hosts it was:
127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.1.1 bonimint.bnnb

I changed it to

At general:
hostname: bonimint ## unchanged
domain: ## removed
At hosts:
127.0.0.1 bonimint## renamed
127.0.1.1 bonimint## unchanged or without.bnnb (no
effect)

That did it. Now everything is smooth again. This was in my case. So
good luck.

[Bug 195119] Re: [hardy]GDM segfaults after settings are changed in Language Support

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: epiphany
+
+ Testcase: attached.
+ Expected result: testcase should open an altert dialog
+ Actual result: nothing happens.
+
+ -

Pop-up dialogs does not show in GNOME epiphany-browser 2.21.90.

If page needs to ask user with javascript with an pop-up dialog, whether
it is a simple OK/Cancel or entry field dialog, the pop-up window just
  does not show.

I cannot delete pictures on flickr.com (it asks me Are you sure?, but
the question does not show), I cannot edit my feeds on Google Reader (it
asks me for the name I wish to assign to a feed, but the window does not
  show), etc.

I launched firefox which gecko Epiphany uses, and the requestor pop-ups
works fine there. So I guess it is a problem with Epiphany interface not
  with underlying gecko.

  Binary package hint: epiphany

  Testcase: attached.
- Expected result: testcase should open an altert dialog
+ Expected result: testcase should open an alert dialog
  Actual result: nothing happens.

  -

[Bug 196094] Re: Nautilus crash when using Trash

2008-02-27 Thread Pedro Villavicencio
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or
challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these
instuctions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be
dealt with by the automatic retracer.

If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch
nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on
the crash report you wish to submit.

I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will
automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more
efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.

[Bug 178402] Re: [hardy] missing language error

2008-02-27 Thread Alexander Jones
The Language Support admin applet still adds:

LANGUAGE=en_GB:en
LANG=en_GB.UTF-8

to the system environment, even after I've removed it as per the
workaround. Is this a bug in that applet?
