I still have the same problem actually. The screensaver only works once
per session.
No errors were available in /var/log/(messages|syslog), /var/crash, or
dmesg. I suspect it's not crashing since the process is persisting. Is

There appear to be several reports of acpi_fakekey not working correctly
anymore. Therefore I've created bug 217504 about this, but your issue seems a
bit different, because it works in general, but then stops.
Therefore I'm not marking it as duplicate, but maybe

Addendum to previous comment:
While the external USB drive accumulated mountpoints with prepended
underscores as in the original report, the internal NTFS partition
accumulated them in the format, "disk", "disk-1", "disk-2". Cleanly
unmounting the partition removed the highest numbered mountpoint
This is still the case in Hoary. Is there a way to change this? Like the
menushowdelay 'hack' in Windows.

This problem doesn't affect optical disks for me, but it affects both my
removable hard drive and my NTFS partition. I suspect that in my case,
the problem is occurring whenever a partition is not unmounted
cleanly--- i.e. when my housemates microwave popcorn and the breaker
blows.

I can tell from what I've read that this isn't a Nautilus bug as such,
but why not have the ability to choose an application manually? Or use a
special command? I want to be able to use this command for playing DVDs

In my case the servers hosting the shares I have tried to connect to are
running MS Windows 2000 Advanced Server.
I have this same issue on three different computers all upgraded to
Hardy from Gutsy.
I didn't file a bug report sooner because I just figured i
