Running the latest Intrepid packages (gdm=2.20.7-0ubuntu4, GDM always
displays the password prompt twice after I enter a username. The
progression is: username-password-password-logged in. The string
entered for the first password prompt seems to be
r2086 is the regression that breaks this. I've attached a partial revert
and pasted some associated info below:
Restructure display.[ch] to have consistent function names and work
towards routing all display code through one point to support Unicode
more easily (Bug #530532).

Can't select harddrive in Look in folder: list. When I select hdd
(/media/ost for example) it switches back to my $HOME folder.
One work around is to select Other... from list and then select the hdd. That
way it stays selected.

Run the fsck command on your harddrive, it if starts spewing out lots of
error like mine did, copy important data from HD, throw away, buy new,
reinstall.
This is apparently an oddity that never happens if the installation went
fine on a clean harddrive

Take a look at the bug data of duplicate bug 262981, which is a similar
crash. There a message was selected and delete button was pressed.
Only thing I noticed in both cases is that the internet connection was
unstable and slow at the time, but that shouldn't have made evolution
crash.

I think you are confusing symbolic links with 'links' in Windows. The
two concepts are very different.

When I insert USB flash drive starts nautilus and shows my flash. If I try open

When I open .zip archive, the menu Archive - Test integrity is active
functional. On .tar.bz2, .tar.gz archives, this menu not active, and no way to
test such archives.
To reproduce this, create two archives from any file, one .zip and one
.tar.bz2,
This may or may not be of any help, but I offer it just in case. I just
did a clean install of Ubuntu 8.04.1 and then put a hold on the package
gdm before doing a full-upgrade. Everything was upgraded to the latest
packages as of today, Aug. 30, 2008, except gdm which was held at the
version

Got another comment to add to this after spotting something today. If I
swap to a different workspace, all of my windows then appear on the
window list on the primary monitor (and disappear from the new list on
the second monitor).
So items on the second monitor only disappear from the window
