It's totem specific. It doesn't happen with rhythmbox or gst- launch-0.10. It happens for mp3 and ogg with short clips and long clips. It seems like totem has this problem with all audio (mp3's and ogg's). Even video files are using less cpu (also in totem). The workaround from Sebastien works okay. I'll keep running evolution under gdb just in case anything else happens. I didn't mention that the out-of-memory would occur after about half-hour of converting the mailboxes. Oh, it seems nautilus is trying to use imdb-thumbnailer to create the thumbnails. I did install it some time ago on Hardy, so that's probably the problem. It's not installed on Intrepid. As I mentioned earlier, there is no particular action as such which needs to be taken to trigger it. Simply activate the turn on accessibility features from the Accessibility configuration dialog box, then activate Sticky Keys. The feature will remain active for some time, and then get deactivated on its own.
