I'll try to reproduce the bug, but I think it's more an issue with the
gtk2-engine-murirne package in ppa:~ken-vandine/gnomex. Since I removed
it I haven't been able to reproduce this crash again. I'll try to run it
in a debugger and check with the Murrine developers.

sudo nano /etc/default/apport
It will open the file /etc/default/apport in an editor. On the line that
says enabled=0, change the 0 into a 1 and save the file.

There hasn't been a glib2.0 update in Jaunty for over 4 months now, so

I think I understand the issue, which is not related to upstream bug
489187 (cited in description) now, since it's been fixed properly. The
problem may come from liboobs that removes users it doesn't know about
(see new upstream report).

I went ahead and installed dbgsym package of nautilus (nautilus-dbgsym) and did
the backtrace.
Instead of crashing (which is normal when cut-pasting to an sftp
location) nautilus hangs. I'm not sure why this happens, but it happens
only if I run it

2.22.0-0ubuntu2-ppa2~jaunty (jaunty). I'm running Jaunty 9.04 fully

Extract the tar.gz file into a folder foo.
Hit ctrl+h to show hidden files/folders
Open the .evolution folder.
Copy the backup-restore-gconf.xml into foo.
highlight the 3 item now in the foo folder.

Thank you for bringing this bug to our attention. However, a paper cut
should be a small usability issue , in the default Ubuntu 9.10 install ,
that affects many people and is quick and easy to fix. So this bug can't
be addressed as part of the project.

Actually it would be bad if you could still hear sound when the screen
is locked. I'd consider that a bug.

I don't care if we're annoying the developers. To me it sounds like
the whole reason they hadn't worked on this in the first place is a lack
of understanding that a mail notifier is an extremely important feature
to MANY users.
The issue is Ubuntu has made an Empathy to be the default client,
the apport log has the version and it's indeed the buggy ppa one,
closing the bug
