Same here, I installed nvidia_96 through Jockey today after a buch of
updates on a fresh install of Beta 2. nvidia_96 fails to install
properly, Then after a reboot, GDM crashes after clicking on a user. GDM
restarts after a few seconds. I switched to tty1 and sudo stop gdm
startx. Gnome desktop
Still exists for Google Talk in Lucid Beta 2. AIM works fine, however.

I reinstalled ubuntu-desktop to no avail. gnome-desktop-environment
isn't installed at all on my system, according to synaptic. If I select
it to be installed, synaptic lists a large number of packages it
additionally needs, some of which look quite redundant to what I think I

I have a situation where I have a few pop accounts and calendars.
The calendars are a local calendar, Google Calendar and webdav Calendar.
The moment I go to view my calendars the resident memory usage on

This issue has resurfaced for me in Lucid Lynx. The sound icon is back
in the system tray (also a keyboard layout icon both of) which I want
removed. There is no longer a gnome-volume-control-applet in
system-preferences-startup applications to remove the sound icon with.

Something about this is still not right. I'm running Lucid beta,
updated to current packages. I have Play login sound disabled in
Login Screen Settings, and yet when I log in, I still get a login sound.
This machine was a fresh install of Lucid, but instead of drum sounds on
login, I'm getting

Come on, this is a *huge* usability issue affecting almost all French
users and which can be fixed by changing a single default option. I
can't see how anything could be more suitable for a paper cut!
