This problem also manifested itself coming out of hibernation. GNOME/pm-
utils upstream believes that it was a driver issue that caused the
glitch. Because this happened coming fresh from a clean shutdown, it
seems this problem is due to the radeon driver:

I gave up checking settings as I am no programmer and there was too
much code to compare with my friend whose notifications work OK.
I tried Pentagon's solution and got the same result as ingo.
Alarms worked fine for me in Jaunty and Karmic and stopped upon
installation (via update manager) of L

gnomines to get a good screen shot of the problem. Sorry for all the

Ok, I got advice on Ubuntu Forums to use program scrot to get a screenshot
in Maverick. It works, but unfortunately, when I go to the terminal screen
to run scrot, gnomines goes into Pause mode, so that is the screen that the
shot is made of. It will not help to solve the problem.

I have the exact same problem Chris Bainbridge and Jim Cauthen have. I
am using KDE on Thinkpad T42, Lucid 10.04. Display goes to dimmest
setting after login. I can then make it brighter manually. Screensaver
does not affect it. It also goes dim after display turns off and then

Yes, I have also realized that it is not possible to make multiple
selections by mouse on list mode at nautilus. In my opinion, there must
be a way to allow such actions by mouse.
Maybe a icon view mode to file-roller would be fine. Thanks.

two drives with different names and one of them does not work (does not open)
when clicking on it.
