Just tested the moving icon scenario now and found two side-effects:

What happens here is that the desktop icon workarea is updated three times!
- first update with a correct value for left margin
- second update with left margin = 0 !!!
- third update with a correct value
How about asking unity-launcher via dbus what size it's rendering at?
(or pulling the setting directly out of gsettings/gconf?)
Having icons on the right side of the screen be moved insn't exactly
ideal, but that's following a user initiated action of resizing the
launcher, so presumably the user

FWIW, your nm-applet patch causes a regression in Xubuntu, since now we
have nm-applet both in the systray and the indicator-plugin... If we
need some action for xubuntu-default-settings (set the gconf key to

rfkill has been toggled (it never comes back with the full menu unless
you change a config in the wizard or turn it off/on again via the menu).

not sure what gtk is doing, the GtkButtonBox used is not homogeneous no,
check on the sound capplet for example, switching to gtkgrid fixes it
though...

Same here .. actually doing a manual suspend works great ! but closing
lid nothing happens, i almost burned out my laptop .. thank god i was
able to save it on time , by morning my laptop was super hot ..

Hi Sebastien,
It looks like the plymouth portion is not invalid anymore, as soon as
lightdm starts the backlight switches off. Current version of lightdm is
lightdm_1.0.6-0ubuntu1.1_amd64.deb. I have attached the most recent logs
for lightdm. In x-0-greeter.log there are a few errors and warnings

- be sure to enable the show hidden files option in the View menu
- hold the Ctrl key pressed
- click on a hidden file and drag it into another place in the
