[Bug 970609] [NEW] Gnome-keyring gets stuck when trying to use Unsafe storage
Public bug reported: 1) Start Empathy 2) Define new Gtalk account 3) When Gnome keyring prompts for a new keyring password, leave it empty 4) Try to enable Unsafe storage Expected result: Unsafe storage is used and account setup flow is completed Actual result: Application gets stuck in the Use unsafe storage -query. Only way to get out of the situation is tho close all related application windows. I am use ubuntu studio 12.04 beta2 and I found same bug. Or may be similar. I am not so expiriensed, the core is XFCE4. I could not find the method of configure keyboard layout switch at all. So, Alt+Shift is default and temporary. And randomly the sequence of layout changed also. @mc3man tried to fix shortcuts from system settings but open terminal with ctrl+alt+t works only in gnome-fallback.. [Bug 970146] [NEW] Keyboard language layout changes after reboot
You have been subscribed to a public bug: When installing Precise, I chose English as language for menus etc, but Norwegian keyboard layout. When installation was completed and system booted up, I still had the English generic keyboard layout, even though I chose Norwegian during setup. I had a similar experience in Oneiric, but I found a bypass there where I added English keyboard layout after first boot, removed Norwegian, re- added Norwegian and set Norwegian to default. It then stuck, but it doesn't in Precise. After each and every reboot, the system reverts to the English generic layout. To bring up my desired default, I have to run dpkg-reconfigure keyboard-configuration. My Norwegian keyboard layout will then be active until next reboot. I might also add the the keyboard icon shows no (Norwegian) when logging in, even though it's English, and when logged in the keyboard icon shows en, even though the layout has been reconfigured to no. In Ubuntu 11.10 with Evolution 3.2.2, when I move a folder, I end up with the folder being deleted and all mails deleted as well on the IMAP server. Luckily the folder is still present in ~/.local/share/evolution/mail/174217blahblah/folders/, so I'm not trying to reestablish my mails. Please fix. Can't use suggested workarounds (or I don't fully understand them). If it were possible to assign keyboard shortcuts for gnome shell via system settings keyboard there would be no this bug report in the first place, I think. Strange thing is that some assignments do work. For example I can assign Ctrl+Alt+T to launch calculator, web browser or home folder, but not terminal. Even for web browser I can't use combinations with Super key. Eg., Ctrl+Super+T. It gets assigned OK, but does not work. By the way I can't find neither web browser nor calculator key in org.gnome.desktop.wm.keybindings (gsettings). It must be somewhere else. My another observation that is different from original bug description is that most default shortcuts actually work. Navigation, screenshots - all work. Super+up/super+down maximizes/restores window OK. Although Ctrl+Super+L does not lock screen, Super+S just passes 'S' letter. OK, I've found out why the Facebook-chat worked with some of my contacts but not with some others. If the contact has deactivated all applications than they can't receive my messages. If they've activated applications in general they can receive my messages. When installation was completed and system booted up, I still had the English generic keyboard layout, even though I chose Norwegian during setup. I had a similar experience in Oneiric, but I found a bypass there where I added English keyboard layout after first boot, removed Norwegian, re-added Norwegian and set Norwegian to default. It then stuck, but it doesn't in Precise. After each and every reboot, the system reverts to the English generic layout. To bring up my desired default, I have to run dpkg-reconfigure keyboard-configuration. My Norwegian keyboard layout will then be active until next reboot. I might also add the the keyboard icon shows no (Norwegian) when logging in, even though it's English, and when logged in the keyboard icon shows en, even though the layout has been reconfigured to no. Think this is my first bug report, so let me know if I should add anything. The wrong colors are what I meant in the last paragraph with libopenraw not being entirely painless yet. The reason for why it worked before could be changes in libtiff assuming the library version changed between Ubuntu versions. libtiff-3.9.5 apparently became a bit more strict regarding the TIFF layout than its predecessor and doesn't seem to make an assumption about missing or wrong TIFF settings anymore which made it work before. Sorry for the delay. I forgot all about this as I'm not using Ubuntu much at all at the moment because i get booted to the login screen randomly and it kills all applications (including my virtual machines that utilise ram drives). it looks like that might be a graphics driver issue, but that's another story.. With a workaround i can not select the input device of my Mackie ProFX 12 mixer to be able to record from it. I opened pavucontrol and went to the configuration tab. There i changed the profile of the mixer device 'PCM2903B Audio Codec' to from 'Analog Stereo Duplex' to 'Analog Stereo Output + Digital Stereo (IEC958) Input'. [Bug 970831] [NEW] Clicking the Reboot button does Logout instead of reboot
You have been subscribed to a public bug: In GNOME/Classic no effects session, I added a Main Menu button (applet?). If I use that menu and select Shut Down, a window pops up offering suspend/reboot options. If Reboot button is clicked, I get loged out of the current session, but no reboot takes place. After I logged back in, I repeated the process and, once again, got logged out instead of reboot.
