I just installed CentOS 6.2. It uses:

gnome-screensaver-command -l
occassionally leaves me with a black screen - even after numerous mouse
clicks / key presses - and the cursor is not visible. When this
happens, I am able to log back in by blindly typing my password an
I think this is due to a very peculiar behavior of evince , that it does
not apply the default settings, if the document is stored somewhere
under /tmp. This is annoying, because most of temporarily used documents
(e.g. pdfs in firefox) are stored there and hence are being opened in a
small window.

I also think that fglrx could be the reason. (fglrx is the proprietary driver
from ATI, right?)
I removed the driver and I had no problem with the shutdown. But as soon as I
installed it again, I wasn't able to shut down again.
But I only started / shut down the laptop about 5 times without fxg

Actually, I have some bad news... It seems that it worked for non-KDE
applications only. On Lubuntu, however, it is working right, so I guess
on standard Ubuntu or Xubuntu it should also work. Not sure what to do
about Libreoffice, though...

evolutions preview pane crashes/currupts when previewing large mails

I can reliably cause evolutions preview pane to freeze when viewing
large mails. The only way to get it working again is to restart
evolution.
This a duplicate of at least #865461 but apport-collect asked me to file
a new report.

This happens to me several times a day. When viewing the preview of the
large the display freezes and trying to scroll, the preview will be
corrupted. Restarting evolution resets the pane until a large mail is
previewed again.
