These .goutputstream-xxx files get created everytime Ubuntu 12.04 shuts
down or starts up.
I tried to fresh install several Ubuntu 12.04 flavors on several laptops
and desktops to check this behavior, and it happens with ALL distros
based on Ubuntu (Kubuntu, Xubuntu, UbuntuStudio, Mint, etc.).

I had to install nvidia-experimental-304 drivers to get my 1440x900 resolution
back.
With nouveau drivers everytime I tried to select 1440x900 I got a black screen

No I have this problem with nouveau drivers.
Currently I have Ubuntu 12.10 with kernel 3.5.0-19-generic, but when I
selected resolution 1152x864 just to try, I could not go back to 1440x900, when

hum, what do you mean it doesn't after only the language packs? it seems
to be and that's a feature, that's how we implemented the langpacks for
help files, the original source ships symlink to the location where the
language pack will provide the files. Is that creating any issue for

I'm affected by this bug, but only when using cinnamon, not unity.
Something was done in compiz to prevent this problem but this was not
done in muffin/mutter.
I've found out that when using xscreensaver the issue happens as well,
