memory use grew to 1132mb before I killed it; rhythmbox had already been

I got this error too on Ubuntu 13.04 (64bit) with an ethernet cable
connection. The problem still occurs, sometimes after some time when I
didn't use suspend. I'm not sure when exactly. Maybe when the
Diskstation goes to sleep and wakes up again. Killing gvfsd-afp does
work.

I just did a fresh install of Raring today on both my Desktop (64bit)
and Laptop (32bit). I also installed all available updates on both. I
can confirm that this is an issue in both and is extremely easy to
reproduce. I tried to use dconf-editor to enable the Hidden Window

The point is that by default, changing the wallpaper does work. You have
to deliberately install a tweak tool and break it yourself in order for
it to be broken.
