I experimented a similar problem.
I use gedit to inspect huge SQL dump files (40-50 MB).
With Ubuntu 10.04 (gedit v. 2.30.3, if I rebember well) I got such files opened
in few seconds, while with Ubuntu 12.04 (and gedit v. 3.4.1) the operation is
terribly slow and impacts the whole system speed
Can reproduce it when using the Archi application. The Archi application is an
Enterprise Architecture modeling tool according the Archimate language.
Choosing the oxygen-gtk2 theme it crashes as soon as you do anything in the UI,
like:
- closing a tab
- dragging a object on the convas
- ...

after reboot working Shift L + Alt instead of Alt + Shif L, resetting Alt

@Adam: Yes, I've been working on it and have improved it based on your
feedback. I've spent a lot more time on this than I intended but I want
to make sure I do this right since this is actually the main reason I
switched away from nautilus.
I rewrote it based on the newest gtktreeview which has
