I have the same problem with Ubuntu 14.04. My canon camera still
connects, and a memory card reader still connects. Out of curiosity, I
turned on an old computer with Ubuntu 12.04 and connected the Samsung
Note II and it was detected right away.

Some further notes: the card that I plugged into to the card reader was
the one from my canon camera. When I tried to plud other cards no of
them were read, only canon formatted card was readable. Finally I
turned off my Samsung Note II and removed the card from it and plugged
it into the card
I too am affected by this problem as I used blueproximity under 12.04 to
lock and unlock my desktop, and it is now unable to unlock it again with
gnome-screensaver-command -d.
What is the solution to this? I need to be able to programmatically
unlock the desktop.

Hmmm, I'm a linux newbie trying to come up to speed. Hope I'm not
overdoing it with details. I opened a terminal window and ran the blkid

Hi David,
Have installed the new bluemantest from the ppa and for me it works. Thank you.
It works in the same way that editing the Pulseaudio.py file worked as

I solved the problem. As expected, also from your comments, it was a
problem on my computer. There were a number of GIMP files in my
/usr/local folder.
I feel extremely stupid for having paid nearly 90 bucks for this heap of
garbage: I'm getting keypresses every 15 minutes now.
Well, that's the last time I buy anything from Logitech.

The annoying thing for me is not that these characters are represented,
but that they ignore the character grid. If I run,
for x in `seq 1 31`;do echo -e $x-\\x$(printf %x $x)=;done
it should print the character code, followed by a minus, followed by a
representation of the character code,
