@Harry
yes it is the same side effect due to systemd/cgmanager. This report is already
a follow up of a previous fixed one (lp:1342586) and here is against gdm (which
yours are not).
As Serge have started to study that issue from your report, i will test his ppa
package. And maybe we will grab

Right Dino, that is fine.
BTW. The newer systemd (208-6ubuntu1) Serge built recently failed (build
failure).

Also, in step three, you can even move your mouse somewhere else to
literally have multiple menus. I confirm this bug.
Moreover, accidentally, if you press and hold the Context Menu Key (it
can happen while trying to press and hold Alt key, thats how I
discovered this bug), it will open a hell

You must follow this steps to reproduce the bug:
1. Focus the desktop (or Files (nautilus) window, or System Settings window
or etc).

Running latest stable today, I can still confirm this bug, if this is a
problem with gvfs, the importance should be elevated and the maintainer
for that package notified, since that could be a critical issue. I dont
know myself, I need someone far more experienced to take a look at this
bug.

Thank you for creating PPA, but this did not solve the issue for me,
too. I uninstalled unity-gtk2-module and unity-gtk3-module and then
installed appmenu-gtk from your ppa, but this procedure does not work.
Have I done something wrong? Thank you

It's still working for me here. I just tried Pidgin to make sure the
menu is exported. You'll need appmenu-gtk from the PPA and the version
of GTK2 in the PPA. appmenu-gtk requires a patched version of GTK2. This
will not work for GTK3 apps as I have not forward ported the patch for

Thank you very much, this solved the issue for gimp and audacity.
Unfortunately this does not solve issue for libreoffice, but that is not
a big deal. KDE (qt4) apps work without problems.

Sorry for the novice question, but does this mean the fix will ever be
available for ubuntu 11.10 - or should I upgrade to 12.04? I looked at
the enable proposed information above, and it explicitly talks about
12.04...
Thanks.
