[Bug 1435269] [NEW] System does not suspend when lid closed

2015-03-23 Thread Chris Stratford
Public bug reported:

Under Utopic closing the laptop lid would suspend the system. Since a
Vivid upgrade this no longer happens (the external screen goes blank for
about a second, then the desktop comes back as before)

The system power settings show When lid is closed: suspend as before,
it just gets ignored.

The menu suspend option does suspend correctly.

[Bug 1251281] Re: gnome-session-flashback/Unity fails to start without hardware acceleration in cloud/remote environments (Forwarded-X/XRDP/VNC/NX/X2GO/Chromoting)

2015-03-23 Thread Michael DePaulo
@plotkin I do not know because I no longer have a copy of NX 3 that I
can install, and NoMachine removed it from their site.

I would look for a config file under /etc/ where you can define what the
GNOME session command is. If that doesn't work, look for an NX 3 script
under /usr/ (I am not sure where they store their files) that defines
what command to call, and edit it. (Assuming their license permits you
to edit said scripts.)

[Bug 776028] Re: cannot see remote screen during VNC server connection

2015-03-23 Thread Alexander List
I see the same problem using two machines running trusty amd64. However,
in my case the remote system was configured to prompt the user for
confirmation to allow incoming VNC connections. You may want to ensure
this is not the case.

The behaviour can be changed using vino-preferences, and then
restarting the session to make the change effective.

If you have SSH access to the remote user, you can connect using ssh -Y,
and run vino-preferences remotely via X forwarding.

[Bug 1428333] Re: gedit crashes on autocomplete with SIGSEGV in gtk_text_iter_get_buffer()

2015-03-23 Thread RastaPopoulos
And how to work again, when we are just basic users who use the package
version of Gedit ? Is there a fixed package ? a PPA ?

Or I just uncheck all completion waiting a classic update ?

[Bug 1428333] Re: gedit crashes on autocomplete with SIGSEGV in gtk_text_iter_get_buffer()

2015-03-23 Thread RastaPopoulos
It's absolutly not just for Snippet ! It's for all plugin that add
completion feature. When I uncheck Snippet but let GDP Completion
it continues to crash.

If I unckeck all plugins with completion, it works again. Never crash.

[Bug 1033618] Re: The program 'gedit' received an X Window System error.

2015-03-23 Thread Anders Hjorth
I experienced the same error when I right-clicked one of the document
tabs:

ahj@anders-laptop:~/projects/prot$ gedit TcpSampling.cpp
ahj@anders-laptop:~/projects/prot$
(gedit:22206): Gdk-WARNING **: The program 'gedit' received an X Window System
error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)'.
  (Details: serial 7971714 error_code 3 request_code 141 minor_code 51)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the GDK_SYNCHRONIZE environment
variable to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

[1]+ Exit 1 gedit ../../../cell/common/packetstatcollect.cpp
(wd: ~/projects/prot/linux/build)
(wd now: ~/projects/prot)
ahj@anders-laptop:~/projects/prot$ gedit TcpSampling.cpp

[Bug 1422681] Re: split out upstart-sysv

2015-03-23 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package systemd - 219-4ubuntu9

---
systemd (219-4ubuntu9) vivid; urgency=medium

  * debian/control:
- systemd-sysv now conflicts with upstart-sysv, not upstart itself
which contains upstart binaries. (LP: #1422681)
  * debian/test/*:
- re-enable upstart boot test and switch to upstart instead of
  upstart-bin
  * debian/systemd-sysv.postinst:
- fix syntax for better portability

[Bug 1435607] [NEW] file/folder icons do not zoom in the same way

2015-03-23 Thread madmaze
Public bug reported:

I have a folder containing subfolders and different various files.
I open this folder in nautilus(icon view) and zoom in.

I expect all icons to enlarge with every zoom step, but instead it
seems only icons with generated thumbnails enlarge. All other standard
Icons(default folder, text file, image icons) all stay the same size but
become more spaced out.
