[Bug 1469221] Re: Move to webkit2gtk in main

2015-07-06 Thread Iain Lane
BTW I don't think this is going to happen for 15.10 - upstreams haven't
fully caught up with this yet.

I'm working on ports but we won't be able to support two webkits in main
so things need to remain wk1 compatible until we switch.

[Bug 1469221] Re: Move to webkit2gtk in main

2015-07-06 Thread Michael Catanzaro
Hi, upstream WebKit developer here. I just want to mention that WebKit1
is no longer receiving security updates, so if you only want one version
in main, it would be good to use WebKit2 instead if possible. Porting
everything to WebKit2 is going to be a years-long process, I'm afraid,
though your help could speed that up a lot (thanks!).

(I guess this doesn't make too much difference for you, since I see your
WebKit2 package is still on 2.6.2 from last October. Imagine not
updating Firefox in that time. Maybe you don't realize, but each new
version includes fixes for mistakes that allow web sites to take control
of your computer. 2.6.5 includes a fix for a mistake in the TLS code
that results in your session cookies being sent to attackers. We are
unfortunately very bad at announcing these problems and need to do
better. Anyway, the current recommended version is 2.8.3.)

@Ekimia
If you use utopic kernel and xserver
(https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/LTSEnablementStack#Desktop) on 14.04.2 - it is
a known issue. Please install that packages from trusty. If you use MATE - it
may reset backlight levels on login because of bug in mate-power-manager.

[Bug 1471993] [NEW] coredump.conf is missing

2015-07-06 Thread god
Public bug reported:

There is no /etc/systemd/coredump.conf, the man page for systemd-coredump and
coredumpctl are absent as well in latest ubuntu 15.04
Please put it back - I'd like to configure coredump policy in a way coherent
with the rest of the system.

[Bug 858338] Re: gedit should 'find next' when I press enter in find

2015-07-06 Thread jas mann
agreed wholeheartedly. this is so frustrating, and unfortunately so
common with open software developers, to go their own way without
consideration for, or perhaps understanding of, what may or may not be
intuitive or expected behavior. developers, consider the huge amounts
of users' time wasted by your taking an arbitrary and unilateral
approach to design.

[Bug 1471845] [NEW] Saving as draft moves the cursor at the top

2015-07-06 Thread Daniel Betschart
Public bug reported:

As I write an email I use File, Save as Draft (CTRL+S) from time to
time. But then the cursor goes at the top of the text. Instead it should
stay at the current position.

Before version 3.2 I have not seen this effect, but in 3.10 it is still
there.

I have reported this upstream:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=750139. Upstream says that
Evolution 3.10 is very old and that this bug won't be fixed in this
version. The bug is fixed in 3.16.

Could you please fix this himself? Because Ubuntu 14.04 is LTS and it
contains this old Evolution 3.10. Thank you.

[Bug 1471284] [NEW] System doesn't shutdown anymore

2015-07-06 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I'm using Ubuntu 15.10 dev and for a few days I'm noticing that my
system doesn't fully shutdown anymore. If I'm shutdown the system from
the desktop environment (LXDE desktop with LXDM as login manager) the
graphical interface exits and it hangs then while showing the console
output. The last line in this output is Unmounting local
filesystems
