[Bug 1489116] [NEW] Unable to set gif as locked screen image, nor as background image

2015-08-26 Thread The Unknown
Public bug reported:

I have recently noticed that even after moving a gif into my Pictures
folder, that when going Settings Background and then going to the
tab Pictures, I am only able to see the images in that folder which
are not gifs, so I have no way of setting the gif as either my
background nor my locked screen image (which is what I would like it to
be). Even when I go to that image and right-click on it and select Set
as wallpaper I only get a still image version of it, no animation as
there should be. So it would be really good if you could set gif images
as your backround image and your locked screen image.

[Bug 1489064] [NEW] filesystem column for used space both indicates absolute and relative space

2015-08-26 Thread Karl-Philipp Richter
Public bug reported:

The column indicating the used space both indicates the absolute space
in form of the number label and the relative space in form of the
progress bar. This doesn't make sense and it'd be nice for the user to
be able to sort by relative and absolute used/free space. Thus, it'd
make sense to split the label with the number and progress bar into two
sortable columns.

[Bug 1489181] Re: package systemd (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: cannot copy extracted data for './lib/systemd/systemd' to '/lib/systemd/systemd.dpkg-new': unexpected end of file or stream

2015-08-26 Thread Brian Murray
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It seems that there was an error on your system when
trying to install a particular package. Please execute the following
command, as it will clear your package cache, in a terminal:

sudo apt-get clean

Then try performing the package operation again. This will likely
resolve your issue, but the failure can be caused by filesystem or
memory corruption. So please also run a fsck on your filesystem(s) and
a memory test. If this does not resolve your bug please set its status
back to New. Thanks in advance!

[Bug 1488795] [NEW] Still getting cached last location even if the permission is denied in system settings after the application started

2015-08-26 Thread Didier Roche
Public bug reported:

With OTA5. Note that I don't know if the caching is done in location-
service or is due to PositionSource Qt components.

1. Starts an application with location capability, accept the location
permission
- You have some console.log() callback on position changed
2. Without closing the app, go to system settings and disable location
permission for that app
3. Put back your application in focus
- You will still see regular (at updateInterval refresh) console.log()
callback onPositionChanged, firing the same QGeoCoordinate than the last known
one.

I guess it should send QGeoCoordinate(nan, nan, nan) (and should set the
Error parameter) as when we can't theorically get the current position
anymore.

snippet:

import QtPositioning 5.2
import QtLocation 5.3

PositionSource {
active: true
updateInterval: 12 // 2 mins
onPositionChanged: {
console.log(coordinates  + positionSource.position.coordinate);
}
}

[Bug 1480310] Re: systemctl link request failed for service FOO: Unit name FOO is not valid.

2015-08-26 Thread Martin Pitt
Ah, this indeed does not only affect the link command but others too.
I'm just confused -- why do you call link *and* enable with an
absolute path? You can just do the latter, that implies link. Or you
explicitly link and then usually call enable on a name only, not a
path.

Either way, https://github.com/systemd/systemd/pull/1044 should fix this
in a more generic fashion, I'm testing this now.

[Bug 1488811] [NEW] No error set on PositionSource when couldn't fetch location

2015-08-26 Thread Didier Roche
Public bug reported:

PositionSource, when used on the phone (OTA5), didn't set the right sourceError
on its object.
run the snippet below, deny location permission on that application

1. see that onPositionChanged event is fired, with QGeoCoordinate(nan,
nan,nan) for positionSource.position.coordinate. However, if you read the
documentation:
However, whenever a positionChanged signal has been received, at least
position::coordinate::latitude, position::coordinate::longitude, and
position::timestamp can be assumed to be valid.

So, this forces the developer to add an extra
positionSource.position.coordinate.isValid check. The event shouldn't be
fired to respect the documentation

2. sourceError is always PositionSource.NoError (as if the location was
permitted). It should rather be, from the documentation
PositionSource.AccessError.

--

snippet:

import QtPositioning 5.2
import QtLocation 5.3

PositionSource {
id: pos
active: true
updateInterval: 12 // 2 mins
onPositionChanged: {
console.log(error value:  + pos.sourceError)
console.log(coordinates  + positionSource.position.coordinate);
}

[Bug 1464645] Re: Samba shares over gvfs do not respect ACL rules

2015-08-26 Thread Chris J Arges
Hello Dariusz, or anyone else affected,

Accepted gvfs into trusty-proposed. The package will build now and be
available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gvfs/1.20.3-0ubuntu1.2
in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to
enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update
out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag
from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the
bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to
verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help
us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification .  Thank you in
advance!

please do open a new bug and we can triage it for consideration in the

[Bug 1488801] [NEW] PositionSource onPositionChanged event is kept being fired every 12 seconds, not respecting updateInterval (phone only)

2015-08-26 Thread Didier Roche
Public bug reported:

Attributing to location-service as this only happens on the phone and
not on a wily desktop

1. starts the following snippets on the phone.
- you can see that onPositionChanged is fired approximately every 12s,
independant of the updateInterval you set (like 1000, 2000, 10 000 seconds…).
Note as well that the positionSource.position.coordinate may not even change
(at least from console.log visible digits).
2. try the same on a wily desktop
- the event is only fired at startup.

snippet:

import QtPositioning 5.2
import QtLocation 5.3

PositionSource {
active: true
updateInterval: 6 // 1 mins
onPositionChanged: {
console.log(coordinates  + positionSource.position.coordinate);
}
}

** Affects: location-service (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New
