[Bug 1641740] [NEW] gnome-calendar needs an Ubuntu-style title bar

2016-11-14 Thread Adam Dingle
Public bug reported:

On both 16.10 (Yakkety) and 17.04 (Zesty), gnome-calendar has no Ubuntu-
style title bar displaying the name of the program. So it looks
inconsistent with other applications on the Ubuntu desktop. What's
more, if I set the option "Show the menus for a window" to "In the
window's title bar" in the Appearance control panel, then the top-level
menu in gnome-calendar is no longer available at all.

Since gnome-calendar is in main, it should be patched to have an Ubuntu
title bar, just like other GNOME applications.

[Bug 1640947] Re: Can't scroll in events with Shotwell 0.22 in Ubuntu 16.10

2016-11-14 Thread pablo33
I tried to compile and install shotwell 0.24 in Yakkety Yak, but I need
to upgrade a lot of packages and I'm not very sure if this is going to
brake more things.

¿Is this going to be fixed in Ubuntu 16.10? If not, I may downgrade
again to 16.04, because shotwell has become really unusable.

[Bug 1623666] Re: iOS10 will not connect to Ubuntu

2016-11-14 Thread J. McDonald
Sam Gleske, with all due respect, that is not an really an answer. I am
an end user, not a code developer, but I understood the basics of the
problem with the package being built with GnuTLS instead of the correct
version of OpenSSL. You are also incorrect with respect to
libimobiledevice being fixed within the Ubuntu 16.04 repositories. The
most recent version still has this bug and I confirmed that it still
does not work either in Ubuntu 16.04 or the related Mint 18.

A patch was suggested as a solution, but the linked patch provided no clear,
understandable (at least to me, an end user) description of how to install it.
I did find a very helpful solution here:
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libimobiledevice/+question/402748

which provided a link to a ppa with updated versions of libimobiledevice
for Ubuntu 14.04 and 16.04 using OpenSSL at the following URL:
https://launchpad.net/~martin-
salbaba/+archive/ubuntu/ppa+libimobiledevice

I installed the version from the PPA, unpaired and paired the phone, and
confirmed that it works at least in my case (Mint 18 & Ubuntu 16.04,
iPhone 5c, and iOS10.1).

[Bug 765152] Re: spacenavd xserver permissions problem

2016-11-14 Thread jf353
This bug is still in 16.10 present and a systemd problem.
Because of this bug Freecad is not able to use 3d mouse.
Workaround (in terminal):
sudo service spacenavd stop
sudo /usr/bin/spacenavd -v -d
start freecad

The error message:
failed to open X11 display ":0.0"
results in the lack of the magellan protocol and
freecad needs it.

Testet on x86_64(16.10) and Aarm64(Odroid C2, 16.04).
