Public bug reported:
Unity8 flickers an empty black window very briefly as some menus appear.
Test case:
1. Run "Disks"
2. Click on the menu button (top right)
More often than not, a black window appears and then disappears as the
menu is opening (in a different place).

ProblemType: Package
DistroRelease: Kali 2016.2
Package: adwaita-icon-theme 3.18.0-2ubuntu3.1
ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.4.0-62.83-generic 4.4.40
Uname: Linux 4.4.0-62-generic x86_64
ApportVersion: 2.20.1-0ubuntu2.4
Ive got this same issue on 16.04.02. It happens with nautilus and also rsync.
Ubuntu is installed on ssd, and so shouldn't have any noticeable impact on the
file transfer, but for some reason it does...

Looks like it might be a good idea to get rid of sessioninstaller, since GNOME
Software provides the PackageKit session interface properly already - but since
Ubuntu doesn't use the PK backend of GS, I assume that the PK session API will
also not work in Ubuntu's version of GNOME Software.
Approximately every 2 weeks I am downloading a few ZIP files from the
same location (they change usually about once a week containing windows
setup files). Suddenly I am experiencing this issue (using Ubuntu 14.04
- Archive Manager v3.10.2.1) with these zips. I cannot see any related
update being
gnome-panel only calls gmenu_tree_load_sync when it get changed signal.
Everything else in stacktrace after that call is in gnome-menus library.

The library was loaded on the gnome-panel process's behalf, so might as
well be the way that gnome-panel is using it.

** Description changed:
gnome-terminal and vte are still at their 3.20 (and 0.44) versions
because they now hard-depend on pcre2, but the pcre2 MIR (LP: #163)
has stalled because there is already one version of pcre in
Public bug reported:
giving "halt -p" or "shutdown -p now" reboots system instead off
powering off.
I have tried some kernel commandline options already, but without success:
- reboot=bios
- acpi=noirq
but none did help. System keeps rebooting on "poweroff", "halt -p" or
"shutdown -p now"
For zesty, I have proposed reverting the mandatory pcre2 changes so that
we can do the vte/gnome-terminal update. See bug 1666264
Like I wrote there, I am concerned about how long these reverts can be
maintained with new versions.

It seems that crash is in gnome-menus library not in panel...

I think the issue is that because there are two .desktops that register
"snap://" when ubuntu-software is installed, the system needs to be told
which one to use.
I agree with marking this verification-done and hope that the SRU for
desktop-file-utils is handled quickly so it doesn't confuse

Work around is to use the trash-cli package and empty trash from the
command line.
Upstream fixes in nautilus seems stalled, per
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=604015 , with no comments
from maintainers for the several months that patches have been
available.
