[Bug 1782559] [NEW] Wayland hangs?
You have been subscribed to a public bug: I have an industrial PC that needs to run Ubuntu. Installing from USB stick was a hassle. (didn't work in dozens of combinations of memory stick (kingston/adata), usb slot (front, back), distribution(14.04, 16.04, 18.04), variant (server, desktop, mini, net) When I finally got it installed, the PC would hang after booting, never completing to the login. [Bug 1782679] [NEW] systemd-resolved can't resolve at all, need to add nameservers to resolve.conf
Public bug reported: I'm running Ubuntu 18.04 (upgraded from 17.10) on a machine with both ethernet and wifi interfaces. [Bug 1782629] [NEW] mutter is ignoring wl_shell_surface_move and wl_shell_surface_resize
Public bug reported: mutter (wayland) is ignoring wl_shell_surface_move and wl_shell_surface_resize request, which prevents the use of subsurfaces window decorations (example: http://github.com/christianrauch/wayland_window_decoration_example). The same example works on weston. The fault is in the method "meta_wayland_pointer_can_grab_surface" where "pointer->focus_surface == surface" does not hold for subsurfaces. Hi, I found a way to make the Alt + Shift keyboard switching working in Gnome 3 (tested with 3.28.2). [Bug 1782573] [NEW] Remote X11vnc session unusable due to crash in gnome-shell when disconnecting HDMI monitor under Ubuntu Desktop 18.04 LTS
Public bug reported: Expect to happen: I can use X11VNC when the monitor is disconnected. What happens instead: remote X11vnc session unusable due to crash in gnome-shell when disconnecting HDMI monitor under Ubuntu Desktop 18.04 LTS I'm using a stable system that works fine when the monitor is connected; also X11VNC works fine. But I want to access the GUI remotely via X11VNC when the HDMI monitor is disconnected then the system is not usable (lots of gnome-shell errors in syslog) and sometimes the gnome-shell will also segfault (the segfault is not in this bugreport). The X11 remote viewer is full of clutter (see screencast). Please see below for the syslog entries when disconnecting the monitor with no X11VNC active, and the syslog entries when the monitor is disconnected and starting X11VNC. [Bug 1782347] Re: [radeon] GDM3 fails to load without nomodeset
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected ** Description changed: Both with the livecd (usb drive) and the installed version, I must boot with the 'nomodeset' kernel parameter at GRUB; otherwise GDM3 will not boot (the screen will keep on flashing in semi-textual mode, with a white mouse arrow stuck). This, however, prevents me from using the 'radeon' video driver, dropping me to a very basic 1024x768 vesa mode. The bug did NOT occur on Ubuntu 12.04, so it is a regression. Also, the bug does NOT occur on XUbuntu/XFCE 18.04, so it is a GDM3-Gnome related thing. Thanks, MZ ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 18.04 Package: gdm3 3.28.0-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.15.0-20.21-generic 4.15.17 Uname: Linux 4.15.0-20-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.9-0ubuntu7 Architecture: amd64 CasperVersion: 1.394 CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME Date: Wed Jul 18 12:18:06 2018 LiveMediaBuild: Ubuntu 18.04 LTS "Bionic Beaver" - Release amd64 (20180426) ProcEnviron: TERM=xterm-256color PATH=(custom, no user) XDG_RUNTIME_DIR= LANG=C.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: gdm3 UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) mtime.conffile..etc.gdm3.custom.conf: 2018-07-18T12:14:53.871895 + --- + ApportVersion: 2.20.9-0ubuntu7 + Architecture: amd64 + CasperVersion: 1.394 + CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME + DistroRelease: Ubuntu 18.04 + LiveMediaBuild: Ubuntu 18.04 LTS "Bionic Beaver" - Release amd64 (20180426) + Package: linux + PackageArchitecture: amd64 + ProcEnviron: + TERM=xterm-256color + PATH=(custom, no user) + XDG_RUNTIME_DIR= + LANG=C.UTF-8 + SHELL=/bin/bash + ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.15.0-20.21-generic 4.15.17 + Tags: bionic + Uname: Linux 4.15.0-20-generic x86_64 + UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) + UserGroups: adm cdrom dip lpadmin plugdev sambashare sudo + _MarkForUpload: True + mtime.conffile..etc.gdm3.custom.conf: 2018-07-19T11:39:06.027905 ** Attachment added: "Dependencies.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1782347/+attachment/5165238/+files/Dependencies.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gdm3 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1782347 Title: [radeon] GDM3 fails to load without nomodeset To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm3/+bug/1782347/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Public bug reported: I'm mounting folders from my NAS on my computer (Ubuntu 18.04) with cifs. Copying an 8 GB file... Upload (local -> mounted) - Nautilus/Nemo -> 6 MB/s - rsync -> 50-60 MB/s Download performance is also strange, but not my biggest concern.
