I have the same crash in 18.10: if the screen automatically blanks after
1 minute, gnome crashes and the login screen appears.

[Bug 1813825] Re: "driverless" printer workflow has bad usability/ is partly broken

2019-03-22 Thread Till Kamppeter
This temporary queue (Kyocera_ECOSYS_P6026cdn) is actually not needed
here. Therefore I have reported this upstream issue on CUPS:

https://github.com/apple/cups/issues/5546

But anyhow, the GUIs need to correctly support temporary print queues of
CUPS.

[Bug 1821365] [NEW] font size of the Top Bar should be resizable

2019-03-22 Thread Matthias Klose
Public bug reported:

The font size of the Top Bar should be resizable. On a hiDPI screen
3200x2000, if you don't want to use scaling, then you can choose bigger
font sizes for everything in Gnome, except for the Font Bar. Or at
least document a setting how to do that via the command line.

[Bug 1821014] Re: budgie-wm crashes sometimes

2019-03-22 Thread David Kedves
Well it is a real machine, the apport report (the attached txt files)
are containing everything.

I use some nvidia graphics card using the proprietary driver
(nvidia-driver-390 390.116-0ubuntu0.18.10.1).

Animations are turned off, I actually installed the budgie packages not so long
ago.
It is an Ubuntu 18.10 cosmic setup, i installed the budgie-desktop packages
from default Ubuntu repos:
 libmutter-3-0:amd64 3.30.2-1~ubuntu18.10.4
 budgie-core 10.4+git20180830.02.f2dbc215fdb-2ubuntu0.1
 budgie-desktop 10.4+git20180830.02.f2dbc215fdb-2ubuntu0.1
 budgie-desktop-environment 0.10.5
 ubuntu-budgie-desktop 0.37

I am not sure when i'll be able to play with a live session of 19.04 :-S Also
it takes some time to reproduce this... I use this machine for working mostly,
8-10hours per a day, it happens like 2-3 times per a day...
But I am pretty sure that dragging the window to the left/right side to the
screen (to occupy the half screen, this sticking feature...) or moving the
window out from that position triggers this...

[Bug 1813825] Re: "driverless" printer workflow has bad usability/ is partly broken

2019-03-22 Thread Christian González
Exactly:

# lpstat -e
ECOSYS-P6026cdn
Kyocera_ECOSYS_P6026cdn

# lpstat -v
Device for ECOSYS-P6026cdn: socket://192.168.4.2

That makes sense to me - as I could swear that I really printed on a
printer, and later (maybe after rebooting, the next day etc) I try to
print on the same one, and it doesn't work.

available at
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/glib2.0/2.56.4-0ubuntu0.18.04.2 in
a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See

to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested and change the tag from
verification-needed-bionic to verification-done-bionic. If it does not
fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the
tag to verification-failed-bionic. In either case, without details of
your testing we will not be able to proceed.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance for helping!

N.B. The updated package will be released to -updates after the bug(s)
fixed by this package have been verified and the package has been in

This was previously discovered as an alternative way to trigger bug

By the way, bug 1817738 was once considered a potential root cause to
it. However the proposed change prevents gnome-shell from starting up

[Bug 1637988] Re: Enable the nfs backend

2019-03-22 Thread Timo Aaltonen
Hello Rui, or anyone else affected,

Accepted gvfs into bionic-proposed. The package will build now and be
available at
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gvfs/1.36.1-0ubuntu1.3.1 in a few
hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how
to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested and change the tag from
verification-needed-bionic to verification-done-bionic. If it does not
fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the
tag to verification-failed-bionic. In either case, without details of
your testing we will not be able to proceed.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance for helping!

N.B. The updated package will be released to -updates after the bug(s)
fixed by this package have been verified and the package has been in
-proposed for a minimum of 7 days.

[Bug 1821298] [NEW] Evince with beamer multimedia: video content covers slides

2019-03-22 Thread Giampiero Salvi
Public bug reported:

Hi,
I have been using beamer and the multimedia package for many years to play
video and audio content in my slides. Until now, the only free viewer that
could display the material that I am aware of was Okular. However, since Ubuntu
18.04, okular has become extremely unstable with continuous crashes, so I have
given another try to Evince.

Evince can display the videos just fine, but unfortunately, when the
video ends, the last frame remains on top of any new slide covering the
slide material. I believe this should be an easy fix. There must be some
cleaning up that needs to be done at the end of the video, or when the
slide is changed that is clearly not performed. For example, if I play
the video and at the same time change slide, the video continues to play
on top.

I am using
Ubuntu 18.04.1
Evince 3.28.4
texlive 2017.20180305-1
kernel 4.15.0-46-generic

GNOME 3.28 runtime (snap) still exists
(I do not know if it is normal to have both of them at the same time. Maybe it
is OK, becouse they are snaps.)

via Gnome tweaks
Ubuntu dock : OFF ( Was also OFF before )
Ubuntu appindicators: ON ( Switched to OFF )

Extensions : ON ( Switched to OFF )

Startup Applications
Reminna Applet: Removed
I did not put it there in the first place.

[Bug 1811900] Re: SRU 3.28 latest git to bionic

2019-03-22 Thread fossfreedom
I did a quick test with the latest daily Ubuntu Budgie bionic and our
window animations are broken - correct me if I'm wrong but the dailies
contain the proposed repo thus would include this version of mutter.

I've updated the tag to verification-failed pending a further bit of
investigation and I'll comment further.

You'll see the broken animations such as opening and closing the Menu
popup, alt+tab switching between windows - the switcher animation goes
awry.

Note - in 18.10/19.04 the same broken animation issues are observed - we
"work around" the issue by switching off animations for new installs.
Can't do this on budgie desktop for bionic users without an update to
budgie-desktop as well. I've raised the issue upstream budgie-desktop
and I imagine they will look at this as and when they migrate to GNOME
3.32 April/May timescale.
