[Bug 1823778] Re: Unable to set Serbian as Language

2019-04-12 Thread Gunnar Hjalmarsson
I think I have fixed the rest, including the modifier issue affecting
e.g. Serbian-Latin and Catalan-Valencia.

* Re-opened the bug; new merge proposal for disco (if not too late)

* Added a bug task for bionic; separate merge proposal for that

And @momcilo: The PPA has been updated, so you can test the latest
proposal if you like.

** Description changed:

+ [Impact]
+
+ The Serbian language items, both the Cyrillic and the Latin, are not
+ shown as selectable items in the Language widget in Region & Language.
+ Furthermore, once that has been fixed, selecting the Serbian-Latin
+ option results in the Serbian-Cyrillic language to be set.
+
+ The proposed upload (via merge proposal) fixes both the issues.
+
+ [Test Case]
+
+ * Install gnome-control-center from bionic-proposed.
+
+ * Install the Serbian language via gnome-language-selector.
+
+ * Open Settings -> Region & Language and open the Language widget.
+
+ * You should see both "Serbian (Serbia)" and "Serbian (Serbia) - latin"
+ in the list. Confirm that you can successfully switch to both the
+ options.
+
+ [Regression Potential]
+
+ An explanation how the proposed fixes address the issues would be a bit
+ technical, but basically we simply drop Ubuntu specific changes which
+ have proved to have adverse side effects. The regression risk ought to
+ be low.

Re: [Bug 1824235] Re: nautilus package crashes on after power on.

2019-04-12 Thread Dhawal Yogesh Bhanushali
I may have not understood the terminology. Can you be more specific? I used
ubuntu-bug to file the issue and I see a crash report with these details.

Do you have enough to identify this as a bug?

Is there a specific indication of crash are we looking at?

Let me know if you suggest some other data.

Dhawal

This does appear to be hardware related because I encounter no problem
on a box with Intel G41 graphics but the X4500 is a no-go with gdm3.

[Bug 1824588] Re: Ubuntu Disco boots to or logs out to black screen

2019-04-12 Thread Erick Brunzell
I found that turning auto-login off resulted in booting to a black
screen so after unsuccessfully trying the nomodeset boot option I
installed 'lightdm-gtk-greeter' and 'lightdm' from recovery mode which
gives me a working system. I had encountered no problems with desktop
behavior but this box has Intel GMA X4500 graphics (old-ish I know) so I
wonder if it could be related to bug #1727356?

Having installed 'gnome-shell-extensions' package from the repos I'm
able to boot and run all three available sessions - Ubuntu, Ubuntu
w/Wayland, and "Classic" with no apparent issues as long as I use
lightdm instead of gdm3.

Just testing Disco and wanted to see what login options are available

[Bug 1824583] [NEW] gnome-calendar uses default Adwaita theme when using Yaru-Dark theme

2019-04-12 Thread Adnan Hodzic
Public bug reported:

When I set to use "Yaru-dark" theme for applications (Gnome-Tweaks >
Appearance > Themes) gnome-calendar will use default Adwaita GTK+ theme,
i.e: see attachment.

If I switch back to default Ubuntu 19.04 theme "Yaru", then gnome-
calendar will use this theme and not Adwaita.

Please let me know if you need any additional information.

Thanks,

[Bug 1823778] Re: Unable to set Serbian as Language

2019-04-12 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package gnome-control-center -
1:3.32.1-1ubuntu4

---
gnome-control-center (1:3.32.1-1ubuntu4) disco; urgency=medium

  * debian/patches/git_nightlight_translations.patch:
- define some strings in the night light dialog as translatable

  [ Gunnar Hjalmarsson ]
  * debian/patches/series:
- Disable ubuntu-region-langpack-install.patch (partially fixes
  LP: #1823778).

  [ Iain Lane ]
  * Fix mismerged ubuntu-language-support patch. The UI was put in the wrong
place in the .ui file, where it didn't show up.
  * debian/patches/info-use-UDisks-to-retrieve-disk-size.patch: Drop.
This is upstream and no longer in the patch series.

[Bug 1824549] [NEW] Ubuntu 18.04 / 4.15.0-46 : gdm3 : error: unexpectedly disconnected from boot status daemon

2019-04-12 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

OS: Ubuntu 18.04 LTS x86_64
uname: Linux 4.15.0-46-generic x86_64

After performing automatic update of OS about 10 days ago (1-MAR-2019
and later) boot process shows with grub option "quiet splash" following
lines

[ OK ] Started Set console scheme.

[ OK ] Starting User Manager for UID 121...

after few moments the graphical login screen is shown up and OS can be used
without limitations.
after succesful login a message box come up that there is a problem with a
system application with tion to generate a message to be sended.

syslog shows

Mar 13 14:39:16 gdm3[2095]: error: unexpectedly disconnected from
boot status daemon
Mar 13 14:39:16 systemd[1]: Started Set console scheme.

So it looks like gdm3 terminated for unknown reason and restarts or
reconnects

[Bug 1824541] [NEW] screen flips itself

2019-04-12 Thread Muntaha Liaqat
Public bug reported:

Hi developers,I'm facing a problem of inverted or flipped screen. At
first it flipped to 180 degree and after researching i got a solution
but this solution is not permanent and now it flips to 90 degree.

I even tried orientation applet locked it too but it does not matter
screen still flips on its own. I want you to know that my laptop stays
on table all the time, no movement at all but screen flips itself . It
also happens even when I'm watching videos.

I even asked about this on ask ubuntu forums and someone gave me idea of
letting you guys know because developers know better.

So in short, I constantly need to use terminal command to switch it back to
normal and the command I use I think I should mention it too so here it is:

[Bug 1779289] Re: [regression] bluetooth mouse not reconnected on reboot

2019-04-12 Thread Sebastien Bacher
We believe that should be fixed by those commits

* https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-bluetooth/commit/e807cbd8
 client: Fix bluetooth_client_set_trusted() not working

(that would probably explain the LinkKey section missing from the
config)

* https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-bluetooth/commit/4f1e0b35
' lib: Always try to pair pointer devices '

Those fixes are in 3.32 in disco and I've uploaded a bionic SRU now
https://launchpadlibrarian.net/418989286/gnome-bluetooth_3.28.0-2ubuntu0.2_source.changes

(the SRU needs to be reviewed/accepted next)

** Description changed:

+ * Impact
+ Bluetooth pointer devices are not always correctly paired, which leads to
have them failing to connect or not auto-reconnecting

suspend/resume or reboot cycles

should work fine but we should keep an eye if it confuses some devices and lead
to prompt for a PIN when that shouldn't be needd

[Bug 1824497] Re: unable to copy small files with nautilus on cifs mount

2019-04-12 Thread Sebastien Bacher
IF the gio copy command has the same issue then yes it's probably gvfs
rather than nautilus to blame, you should report your finding on
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gvfs since that's the right place for
upstream code issues (the Ubuntu team does integration and contribute in
those projects but on launchpad you then only hit a subset of the people
who can help getting it resolved)

Thank you for your bug report, it could be useful to report to the software
writters directly on https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/nautilus/issues/
(note that it could be a gvfs/glib(gio) issue, do you get the same problem with

[Bug 1824497] [NEW] unable to copy small files with nautilus on cifs mount

2019-04-12 Thread Alain DELANGE
Public bug reported:

I have this bug on two different computers with ubuntu 18.04
I never encounter this this 16.04 and any previous releases

I am working on a web site with many (twenty) small php files (less than
100bytes)

When I copy paste the full www folder nautilus hangs on a certain file, a small
one...
When I copy paste one small file from a subfolder of www to an other sufolder
it hangs

I got the message :
Copie de index.php vers pictures
0 octet / 65 octets - environ 596 523 heures restantes

Sometimes I got a 0 byte in my folder which is hard to remove even on
terminal

But If I do a paste again, just after the stall, I got from nautilus the
message the file exists and if I "replace" it works.

Copying/pasting a file in the same folder don't work at all :
Duplication de index.php
0 octet / 65 octets - environ 596 523 heures restantes

*
context :
I am working with different computers physicals and virtualbox on these files
with absolutely no problems
The configuration is always the same:
My cifs mount are mounted with autofs on /home/ad/auto
I have something like that in autofd configuration files:

moi -fstype=cifs,credentials=/home/ad/.credentials/ad-
credentials,iocharset=utf8 ://192.168.1.20/ad_moi

I have the problem when I am on the same computer, the one with samba server,
in this case I have
127.0.0.1 instead of 192.168.1.20in config files.

The problem is not with autofs. I can get it without it...

I can reproduce it on an other computer with ubuntu 19.10
the copy/paste of www hangs on the first file : a 388 bytes png file

copying with terminal with cp works fine
