[Bug 1836881] Re: gnome-shell freeze

2019-07-18 Thread Daniel van Vugt
OK I missed some steps there sorry...

The command:

  apport-cli --hanging -P PID

will give you a link to help you complete creation of a new bug. You
then need to follow that link, on any machine. Don't send us that link.

After you have created a new bug, please tell us its ID.

If that didn't work then please look at
https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/ID where ID is the content of file
/var/lib/whoopsie/whoopsie-id on the machine. Do you find any links to
recent problems on that page? If so then please send the links to us.

[Bug 1837160] [NEW] Syslog Filled with Millions of Entries per Hour with Stack Trace Ending in /org/gnome/shell/ui/animation.js and /org/gnome/gjs/modules/_legacy.js

2019-07-18 Thread Kaveh Gharavi
Public bug reported:

[Sys Info]

Description:Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS
Release:18.04
gnome-shell:
  Installed: 3.28.4-0ubuntu18.04.1

[Description]

I'm seeing several GB/day of syslog entries by org.gnome.Shell.desktop
/gnome-shell, causing the / partition to eventually run out of space
(which is how I found out about this). It is a repetition of the
following block over and over again.

[Reproduciblity]

So far as I can tell, simply logging in to the GNOME desktop starts the
logging sequence. Disabling shell extensions via Tweaks has no effect.

[From /var/log/syslog -- N.B. disregard "trusty", I'm running bionic]

[Bug 1834517] Re: Update gnome-shell to 3.32.2

2019-07-18 Thread Steve Langasek
This SRU has now been removed from -proposed due to the failed
verification. However, the referenced regression looks like it has been
root-caused to mutter rather than gnome-shell, so it's possible this SRU
is actually ok to release (possibly only after a fixed mutter has been
uploaded). If so, please comment on this bug with the appropriate
details and ask an SRU team member on IRC to resurrect this package.

2019-07-18 Thread Tom Reynolds
When I returned to my computer (AMD RX580 graphics, amdgpu) after a
while (the screen had entered power saving mode), the gnome-shell
process (on XWayland) failed.

Unfortunately this crash was not automatically reported by whoopsie /
apport and required manual re-submission (bug 1792643). If this was also
so for the other (to date only) three reporters, this would explain the
low number of reports on errors.ubuntu.com.

[Bug 1836881] Re: gnome-shell freeze

2019-07-18 Thread Douglas Rodrigues Alves
Hello Daniel, thank you for the help. The freezing has just happened again, I
enter tty, used the command ps -A | grep gnome , and I believe that the ID is
the gnome-shell associated to the tty2 because ctrl+alt+f2 is my interface
shortcut. I ran the apport command and with the ID and it give me some options,
on of which is to send the report. There was no option to generate a link.
I sent the report by pressing s but I am not sure where the report when to and
how you could locate it. Is there another way to make the report available to
you?

[Bug 1405005] Re: GNOME Calendar doesn't show correct first day of the week

2019-07-18 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for your bug report. Is that still an issue?

https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-calendar/issues/408 which is a
similar issue has that comment

'gnome-calendar checks _NL_TIME_WEEK_1STDAY for the current locale,
which is set to 19971130 (Sunday) for China. So I think you need to
report this to glibc if you want it changed.'

Which hints that could be an issue with the locale defintion

Please reintroduce the bug and then collect the whole log from

  journalctl -b0 > curboot.txt

Or if the problem occurred during the previous boot then run:

  journalctl -b-1 > prevboot.txt

and attach the resulting file.

Also, since "X Wayland crashed", please follow these instructions to
help us track that down:
