I didn't notice it in previous releases, so this is *probably* worse
than in older releases.
I've attached a heaptrack log. It's large, as it's over a long time
period, but by the end gnome-software was idling at ~700MB of memory. I

Remmina that is preinstalled on Ubuntu ships with a gnome-session file
(/usr/share/gnome-session/sessions/remmina-gnome.session) that is
displayed in the list
Frederik - can you propose these changes upstream now? Even though may
not land, they're worth discussing now to confirm they are correct. It's
also not too hard to get a freeze exception if the change is obviously
correct.

I was able to reproduce it again. The system quickly became
unresponsive, so I had to reboot with the REISUB combination. After the
system started again I collected the logs. I wasn't using Nautilus of
the image viewer this time.

There is currently some kind of workaround for this error.
Just open up a terminal and enter:
evolution --force-shutdown
This causes all Evolution related processes to be shut down. They will
be re-started if Evolution is started the next time, and as the inter-
process communication is re-estab
