[Bug 1846785] Re: Crashes instantly on launch with Pentium J5005 Processor

2020-06-03 Thread milvi
Hello Robie,

testing djvulibre-bin :
testing command : djvups, djview4
hardware : atom based processor (Pentium J5005)

- 3.5.27.1-8ubuntu0.1

$ Segfault (core dumped)
(as expected)

then with version,

- 3.5.27.1-8ubuntu0.2

It works ! It now returns and produces a valid postscript file.

djview4 (version 4.10.6-3) works only when the patch is applied
(3.5.27.1-8ubuntu0.1 -> 3.5.27.1-8ubuntu0.2).
To check this, I ran djview4 before and after upgrade.

Regression on an Intel® Core™ i7-7567U doesn't trigger any failure.
- djvups, djview4 run like a charm as before.

Thanks a bunch,

[Bug 1881669] Re: Object .Gjs_AppIndicatorIconActor__1 (0x5582a2e9b240), has been already finalized. Impossible to set any property to it

2020-06-03 Thread Jerry Quinn
Hi Sebastien. It seems to be reproducible, but I don't know how to do
it. I see several events in my log today. One clue I see is that there
is a gnome-software message as well as the gnome-shell traces. I then
ran gnome-software. I see that it last checked at 6:16. And in the
log, there's one of these traces at 6:16.

Unfortunately, starting gnome-software and asking it to refresh didn't
create another stack trace.

I experience this in 20.04 as well: remote session with Workstation,
after termination the greeter on this host does not respond to the
mouse. The keyboard allows access to virtual terminals and ctrl-alt-
delete reboots.

Hopefully nomachine has an answer.

[Bug 1881941] [NEW] Ubuntu dock behaves crazy when hidden

2020-06-03 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I had put the dock on the bottom of the screen and also set to hide
automatically.
The dock works fine as expected but there are sometimes (actually like 90% of
the time) that it behaves weird when I try to access it with the mouse pointer,
the dock starts to bounce quickly without stopping and then it's kind of hard
to press the icons on it (when I'm lucky I can click the icon), other times I
had to move away the pointer from the bottom and then move it back to access
the dock.
I made a video of it although it's very short but you can see for a brief of
time how the dock starts to bounce.
I haven't installed new packages or applications that change the behaviour of
the dock in any way.

[Bug 1874288] [NEW] Copy a screenshot of an area to clipboard prevents mouse click if used on modal UI elements

2020-06-03 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Steps to reproduce:
---

- Register a keyboard shortcut to trigger a "Copy a screenshot of an area to
clipboard", i.e Shift+Ctrl+$
- Keyboard shortcut works fine and your mouse cursor becomes a cross-hair
- Now open, for example, a selectbox in Firefox Application, or any UI item
capturing mouse and try to trigger a screenshot in this state: for example, try
to screenshot your active Application menu dropdown (Application > File > Save)…
- At this moment, screenshot utility won’t change your mouse pointer into a
crosshair and a bug occurs which prevents gnome-shell to respond to any
mouse-click: I can’t click anymore on Dock icons, top bar actions and can’t
click on Applications which are not in focus (I have to use Super+Tab to give
focus to other applications)
- However, mouse "hover" is still captured by applications (I can see UI
tooltips appearing) but I can’t click anymore

For the moment, the only way to recover my mouse click is to reboot
Ubuntu or restart gdm3 service.

[Bug 1881894] Re: Apps from PPAs with AppStream metadata are not displayed

2020-06-03 Thread AsciiWolf
Ah. However, this is also causing issues for already installed PPA apps
(packages) that contain AppStream metadata. They are displayed in Snap
Store / GNOME Software, but it is not possible to uninstall them.
Clicking the "Remove" button does nothing. See:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/snap-store/+bug/1881487

It would be great to at least fix/workaround this issue or make the PPA
apps not being displayed at all in Snap Store / GNOME Software.

[Bug 1846785] Re: Crashes instantly on launch with Pentium J5005 Processor

2020-06-03 Thread Robie Basak
Hello milvi, or anyone else affected,

Accepted djvulibre into bionic-proposed. The package will build now and
be available at
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/djvulibre/3.5.27.1-8ubuntu0.2 in a
few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how
to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, what testing has been
performed on the package and change the tag from verification-needed-
bionic to verification-done-bionic. If it does not fix the bug for you,
please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification-
failed-bionic. In either case, without details of your testing we will
not be able to proceed.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance for helping!

N.B. The updated package will be released to -updates after the bug(s)
fixed by this package have been verified and the package has been in
-proposed for a minimum of 7 days.

[Bug 1881912] [NEW] SRU 1.64.3 to focal

2020-06-03 Thread Treviño
Public bug reported:

[ Impact ]

That's the current GNOME stable update, including some fixes and translation
updates
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gjs/-/tags/1.64.3

[ Test case ]

The update is part of GNOME stable updates
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates/GNOME

GNOME Shell and its components should continue working, as well other
gjs based apps like polari

[ Regression potential ]

Update fixed various memory leaks and errors, updates to Gtk to work
with GTK4, so gtk3 apps should continue working properly, and string
operations should not be affected by some GLib overrides changes.

[Bug 1881894] [NEW] Apps from PPAs with AppStream metadata are not displayed

2020-06-03 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug by AsciiWolf (asciiwolf):

This happens on the latest Snap Store on fully updated Ubuntu 20.04.
When adding a PPA that has packages with AppStream metadata, it should
be possible to find and install these packages from Snap Store. However,
when searching for them in Snap Store, no results are found.

To reproduce this issue, try, for example, add Lutris PPA:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:lutris-team/lutris
$ sudo apt-get update

Then restart the computer or run "killall snap-store", then launch
Ubuntu Software again and search for "Lutris".

[Bug 1881879] Re: Gnome Shell Freezes

2020-06-03 Thread Daniel van Vugt
1. Please uninstall these extensions:

   'openweather-extens...@jenslody.de',
   'sound-output-device-choo...@kgshank.net',
   'multi-monitors-add-on@spin83'

and then reboot and tell us if the problem persists. We need to try
this first because so many bugs are caused by extensions.

2. If the problem still happens then next time the gnome-shell process
is using 100% CPU please use:

 kill -ABRT

as that should create a .crash file in /var/crash. Then run:

 ubuntu-bug YOURFILE.crash

to make a new formal bug report.

[Bug 1881851] Re: Memory leak from GDM's gnome-shell process

2020-06-03 Thread Daniel van Vugt
The first thing we need to check is what extensions might be installed
system-wide that could interfere with the login screen. Please run
'gnome-shell-extension-prefs' and disable/remove all but the three
Ubuntu-default extensions. Then reboot.

Since this test may take some days or weeks to complete I will also mark
this bug as private, to avoid noise from unwanted "me too" comments. At
least until the cause of the leak is known.

[Bug 1881851] [NEW] Memory leak from GDM's gnome-shell process

2020-06-03 Thread hackel
Public bug reported:

On my laptop that I keep running but suspend/resume multiple times per
day, the gnome-shell process which GDM keeps running in the background
has some type of memory leak. It is currently up to 2 GiB after an
"uptime" of 28 days. No issues with the actual gnome-shell process I
use at 382M, though it appears to have crashed/restarted more recently.
