[Bug 1846785] Re: Crashes instantly on launch with Pentium J5005 Processor
Hello Robie, testing djvulibre-bin : testing command : djvups, djview4 hardware : atom based processor (Pentium J5005) - 3.5.27.1-8ubuntu0.1 $ Segfault (core dumped) (as expected) then with version, - 3.5.27.1-8ubuntu0.2 It works ! It now returns and produces a valid postscript file. djview4 (version 4.10.6-3) works only when the patch is applied (3.5.27.1-8ubuntu0.1 -> 3.5.27.1-8ubuntu0.2). To check this, I ran djview4 before and after upgrade. Regression on an Intel® Core™ i7-7567U doesn't trigger any failure. - djvups, djview4 run like a charm as before. Thanks a bunch, There is a community out there reading old research material, digitized papers, and books, the likes of which are often found in DJVU format. [Bug 1881669] Re: Object .Gjs_AppIndicatorIconActor__1 (0x5582a2e9b240), has been already finalized. Impossible to set any property to it
Hi Sebastien. It seems to be reproducible, but I don't know how to do it. I see several events in my log today. One clue I see is that there is a gnome-software message as well as the gnome-shell traces. I then ran gnome-software. I see that it last checked at 6:16. And in the log, there's one of these traces at 6:16. Unfortunately, starting gnome-software and asking it to refresh didn't create another stack trace. [Bug 1881941] [NEW] Ubuntu dock behaves crazy when hidden
You have been subscribed to a public bug: I had put the dock on the bottom of the screen and also set to hide automatically. The dock works fine as expected but there are sometimes (actually like 90% of the time) that it behaves weird when I try to access it with the mouse pointer, the dock starts to bounce quickly without stopping and then it's kind of hard to press the icons on it (when I'm lucky I can click the icon), other times I had to move away the pointer from the bottom and then move it back to access the dock. I made a video of it although it's very short but you can see for a brief of time how the dock starts to bounce. I haven't installed new packages or applications that change the behaviour of the dock in any way. tavoge@e6430s:~$ lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 20.04 LTS Release:20.04 tavoge@e6430s:~$ apt-cache policy xorg xorg: Instalados: 1:7.7+19ubuntu14 Candidato: 1:7.7+19ubuntu14 Tabla de versión: *** 1:7.7+19ubuntu14 500 500 http://mx.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu focal/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 20.04 Package: xorg 1:7.7+19ubuntu14 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.4.0-33.37-generic 5.4.34 Uname: Linux 5.4.0-33-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu27.2 Architecture: amd64 BootLog: Error: [Errno 13] Permiso denegado: '/var/log/boot.log' CasperMD5CheckResult: skip CompositorRunning: None CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME Date: Wed Jun 3 11:40:48 2020 DistUpgraded: Fresh install DistroCodename: focal DistroVariant: ubuntu DkmsStatus: virtualbox, 6.1.6, 5.4.0-33-generic, x86_64: installed ExtraDebuggingInterest: Yes GraphicsCard: Intel Corporation 3rd Gen Core processor Graphics Controller [8086:0166] (rev 09) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: Dell 3rd Gen Core processor Graphics Controller [1028:057d] InstallationDate: Installed on 2020-05-29 (5 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 20.04 LTS "Focal Fossa" - Release amd64 (20200423) MachineType: Dell Inc. You have been subscribed to a public bug: Steps to reproduce: --- - Register a keyboard shortcut to trigger a "Copy a screenshot of an area to clipboard", i.e Shift+Ctrl+$ - Keyboard shortcut works fine and your mouse cursor becomes a cross-hair - Now open, for example, a selectbox in Firefox Application, or any UI item capturing mouse and try to trigger a screenshot in this state: for example, try to screenshot your active Application menu dropdown (Application > File > Save)… - At this moment, screenshot utility won’t change your mouse pointer into a crosshair and a bug occurs which prevents gnome-shell to respond to any mouse-click: I can’t click anymore on Dock icons, top bar actions and can’t click on Applications which are not in focus (I have to use Super+Tab to give focus to other applications) - However, mouse "hover" is still captured by applications (I can see UI tooltips appearing) but I can’t click anymore For the moment, the only way to recover my mouse click is to reboot Ubuntu or restart gdm3 service. Ah. However, this is also causing issues for already installed PPA apps (packages) that contain AppStream metadata. [Bug 1881851] Re: Memory leak from GDM's gnome-shell process
The first thing we need to check is what extensions might be installed system-wide that could interfere with the login screen. Please run 'gnome-shell-extension-prefs' and disable/remove all but the three Ubuntu-default extensions. Then reboot. Since this test may take some days or weeks to complete I will also mark this bug as private, to avoid noise from unwanted "me too" comments. At least until the cause of the leak is known. ** Changed in: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete ** Information type changed from Public to Private -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1881851 Title: Memory leak from GDM's gnome-shell process To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1881851/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1881851] [NEW] Memory leak from GDM's gnome-shell process
Public bug reported: On my laptop that I keep running but suspend/resume multiple times per day, the gnome-shell process which GDM keeps running in the background has some type of memory leak. It is currently up to 2 GiB after an "uptime" of 28 days. No issues with the actual gnome-shell process I use at 382M, though it appears to have crashed/restarted more recently. $ ps -efly S UID PIDPPID C PRI NI RSSSZ WCHAN STIME TTY TIME CMD S gdm 48014325 0 80 0 2069448 3159004 - May05 ? 00:03:07 /usr/bin/gnome-shell S hackel7553185378 1 80 0 392064 1374538 poll_s May26 ? 02:21:02 /usr/bin/gnome-shell ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 20.04 Package: gnome-shell 3.36.2-1ubuntu1~20.04.1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.4.0-29.33-generic 5.4.30 Uname: Linux 5.4.0-29-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: zfs zunicode zavl icp zcommon znvpair nvidia_modeset nvidia ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu27.2 Architecture: amd64 CasperMD5CheckResult: skip Date: Wed Jun 3 00:33:57 2020 DisplayManager: gdm3 GsettingsChanges: InstallationDate: Installed on 2019-12-03 (182 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 19.10 "Eoan Ermine" - Release amd64 (20191017) RelatedPackageVersions: mutter-common 3.36.2-1ubuntu1~20.04.1 SourcePackage: gnome-shell UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to focal on 2020-04-24 (39 days ago) ** Affects: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug focal third-party-packages -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1881851 Title: Memory leak from GDM's gnome-shell process To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1881851/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
