2021-03-08 Thread Daniel van Vugt
The failure to raise windows on click sounds like
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/issues/1660 which is fixed
upstream in 4d54c3c556d753c0b981406937948895141dc1d4. But I doubt that's
the only fix we need.

same here. As the testsuite doesn’t catch this, it clearly means each
shell and mutter updates should be tested both on Xorg and Wayland.

Nvidia user here, so Wayland isn’t an option

Yep, I'd say it's that bug. It's fine under Wayland.

In 21.04 will it be possible to select a Wayland session from the login
screen without commenting out the gdm rule that disables Wayland if the
nvidia module is loaded? I've got prime-select set to on-demand, so
nvidia is loaded even though intel is the main driver, but Wayland still
works - it's just not presented by default and there is no indication
given as to why.

(It'd be even better if nvidia-prime actually worked in Wayland...)

[Bug 1767542] Re: Turning off WiFi enables Airplane mode

2021-03-08 Thread Evan Royal
Will this ever get fixed? I need wifi for phone calls sometimes. I get
all the settings juuust right, then bam! Airplane mode. Just for no
reason. I have set it to not save power, ever, for any reason, done the
tweaks. But my settings go back to default after a restart. For some
this not a minor bug. Please don't push me to Windows.

[Bug 1918190] Re: Enabling/Disabling VPN crashes window manager

2021-03-08 Thread Robert C Jennings
As a workaround for anyone, you can use nmcli to bring up a VPN
connection.

Run `nmcli c` to get a list of connections, once you have the name you
can enable it with `nmcli c up $name` or disable it with `nmcli c down
$name`.

1. I have never seen this error in upstream rhythmbox.

2. All instances of this bug are in Ubuntu with rhythmbox-plugin-

You should probably file a bug in gstreamer if you have tagging issues.
Rhythmbox just gstreamer backend for tagging.

[Bug 1836459] Re: Rythmbox fails to read mp3 tags

2021-03-08 Thread empty
Yes, you are right, it is not a MP3 file.

My main problem wasn't that it doesn't work, but the lack of debugging
options.

It would be nice if rhythmbox could display the tags of webm containers
with opus audio (like id3info), or if it would somehow tell you that
test.mp3 is not a valid mp3 file.

I also opened a bug in youtube-dl, but it got closed (IMHO completely
unjustified).

[Bug 1836459] Re: Rythmbox fails to read mp3 tags

2021-03-08 Thread crvi
Because it's not an MP3 file. It's Webm container with opus audio.

$ youtube-dl --extract-audio --audio-format mp3 "https://youtu.be/Sqk3B2041uk;

[youtube] Sqk3B2041uk: Downloading webpage

[download] 100% of 2.07MiB in 00:01
[ffmpeg] Post-process file test.mp3 exists, skipping

$ gst-typefind-1.0 test.mp3

[Bug 1918127] [NEW] gnome-shell crash when using panel

and run this after resuming from suspend:

Accepted systemd into bionic-proposed. The package will build now and be
available at
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/systemd/237-3ubuntu10.45 in a few
hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how
to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.

[Bug 1916705] Re: glib2.0 >=2.67.3 breaks include from an extern C context

2021-03-08 Thread Iain Lane
> Also open-vm-tools is also FTBFS by this, so I need to add a task and
work on that as well.

You want this kind of thing minimally to get over the FTBFS:

--- open-vm-tools-11.2.5.orig/open-vm-tools/configure.ac
+++ open-vm-tools-11.2.5/open-vm-tools/configure.ac

APIs])

if test "$have_genmarshal" != "yes"; then

But I would recommend also at least asking upstream to do the full fix
and move glib's headers out of 'extern "C"' too as outlined in comment
#2 here.

apport information

** Tags added: apport-collected

** Description changed:

I have connected a second screen to my laptop. After resume, sometimes
the resolution on this screen is blurry and the open windows don't fit
to the screen in fullscreen mode (they are bigger). Maybe a wrong
  resolution.

  1)
  Description: Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS
  Release: 20.04

  3)
I expected to happen that the resolution is correct.

  4)
The resolution isn't correct and blurry.

Reconnection of the external display solves the problem.

Thanks. That shows you have these extensions enabled:

'places-m...@gnome-shell-extensions.gcampax.github.com',
'noannoya...@sindex.com',
'native-window-placem...@gnome-shell-extensions.gcampax.github.com',
'user-th...@gnome-shell-extensions.gcampax.github.com'

Mostly I would suspect 'noannoya...@sindex.com' of being the problem
here so please try uninstalling it.
