If it is caused by triple buffering then you will find the issue is
temporarily fixed in mutter 44~rc (which lacks triple buffering), and
will return later in 44.0.

The workaround doesn't fix the problem for me.
It's not only doesn't wake up the screen, it freezes the whole system and I
