[Bug 863154] Re: Wacom Bamboo One tablet random coordinate malfunctions
Thanks everyone for looking into this problem in more detail! I will try the solution given by Alexia as soon as possible. [Bug 863154] Re: Wacom Bamboo One tablet random coordinate malfunctions
@cvargas-z compiz is a compositing manager that uses 3D graphics hardware to create good looking and fast compositing effects on your desktop. In the newer Ubuntu versions, it is primarily used by the Unity graphical shell. When using 11.10 without compiz, your system probably fell back to Unity-2D, which is a Qt/QML based version of the Unity shell. This is not really a bad thing. For better graphics cards, using Unity/compiz makes your shell (the windows, launchers etc.) have better effects and run faster, but the difference is not that big (I am personally using Unity-2D all the time). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gimp in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/863154 Title: Wacom Bamboo One tablet random coordinate malfunctions To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gimp/+bug/863154/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 848757] [NEW] Empathy fails connecting to jabber account - No reason specified
Public bug reported: I have seen some other people reporting a similar bug (e.g. #753820) with similar issues, but not sure if the causes are the same. Might be a duplicate in the end. Situation: I was using Empathy with this jabber account for some time now, everything worked fine. Until one day it simply stopped working - that day no updates have been made or system changes. Empathy simply can't connect to the account, giving an error No reason specified. Other clients connect correctly. I have attached mission-control and gabble (jabber) logs for convenience. I did some research and experiments regarding this bug, as I am able to temporarily remove it. It seems the problem might be related to mission-control-5. After removal of the .mission-control directory, killing the mission-control-5 process, and inputting account data anew, Empathy connects with no problems. Disconnecting and connecting works correctly. The problem re-appears whenever Empathy is restarted. No changes seem to happen in .mission-control/ between the working and not working versions (diff -urN returns nothing). Reinstall of empathy by itself doesn't help. [Bug 848757] Re: Empathy fails connecting to jabber account - No reason specified
I found out the problem, but still I would need to find the very root cause of this issue. It seems that a Jabber MUC I had set as auto-join suddenly started killing the whole connection for yet unknown to me reasons. I missed this lead because I wrongly assumed that settings such as favorite channels are being held alongside account data in .mission- control/. But as they are not, even after reconfiguring the account, auto-join was still enabled and crashed the connection. It seems trying to join that given MUC kills the connection, which I think still should not happen. But at least I found a work-around my problem. Will try some more regarding this issue. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to empathy in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/848757 Title: Empathy fails connecting to jabber account - No reason specified To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/empathy/+bug/848757/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 863154] [NEW] Wacom Bamboo One tablet random coordinate malfunctions
Public bug reported: The tablet in overall seems to work correctly, with all pressure- features working. But quite frequently, while drawing, GIMP seems to wrongly read the coordinates of the stylus (as zeros, or negative values?), resulting in frequent, random 'line-peaks' in the direction of the left and upper image edges. With this bug it is hard to even use the tablet, since these problems are very frequent (see the exemplary image attached). The tablet works with no problems in MyPaint. The bug is reproducible in both Unity-2d and Unity-3d. I also notice the CPU usage increasing dramatically during drawing with any brush. Steps to reproduce: 1. Connect the Wacom Bamboo One tablet 2. Open GIMP 3. Ok, with everyone confirming that the systemd patch is not required, I am closing the systemd part of the bug as 'Invalid' - let's only concentrate on the dbus part here. That being said, I would not like to release a new patch for dbus downstream if the patch hasn't been fully reviewed and approved upstream. In this case I would propose to wait a bit and see if a finalized patch will be available. ** Tags removed: patch ** Changed in: systemd (Ubuntu Xenial) Status: Confirmed => Invalid ** Changed in: dbus (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed ** Changed in: dbus (Ubuntu Xenial) Status: New => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to systemd in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1591411 Title: systemd-logind must be restarted every ~1000 SSH logins to prevent a ~25 second delay To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/dbus/+bug/1591411/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1645308] [NEW] [SRU] Backport zeromq3 4.2.0 to yakkety
Public bug reported: [Impact] As per product requirement, we have released a git-snapshot based pre- release version of zeromq3 4.2.0 to yakkety (4.1.5+git20160811+2fc86bc) as the upstream version was not yet available. The agreement was that we will release the snapshot-based version only if, once the official update is available we will update and switch. The rationale for this would be that the snapshot-based version is anyway more-or-less feature compatible with the official version. It's also not wise to keep shipping a snapshot for long as some bugfixes might be missing from the cherry-pick. The generated binaries are binary-compatible, with only a few new symbols exported in the main 4.2.0 version. [Test Case] No particular test-case - installing the new version and making sure that existing reverse-dependencies still work as intended. [Regression Potential] There is, of course, some regression potential, but as already mentioned: there weren't too many commits since the git snapshot that our previous version was based off. ** Affects: zeromq3 (Ubuntu) Importance: Medium Status: Fix Released ** Affects: zeromq3 (Ubuntu Yakkety) Importance: Medium Assignee: Łukasz Zemczak (sil2100) Status: In Progress ** Also affects: zeromq3 (Ubuntu Yakkety) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: zeromq3 (Ubuntu Yakkety) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: zeromq3 (Ubuntu Yakkety) Status: New => In Progress ** Changed in: zeromq3 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Fix Released ** Changed in: zeromq3 (Ubuntu Yakkety) Assignee: (unassigned) => Łukasz Zemczak (sil2100) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to zeromq3 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1645308 Title: [SRU] Backport zeromq3 4.2.0 to yakkety To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/zeromq3/+bug/1645308/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1703690] Re: Add support for Budgie Desktop using GNOME Screensaver
Hello! Thanks for submitting the bug and patches! I looked briefly at the provided debdiffs and from the packaging POV they look good. I'm not sure about the contents though. I am not a GNOME developer so I'd like to get some opinion of someone that knows the code and would be able to say if it's the right way to go or not. Did you discuss these changes with the desktop team or anyone from the GNOME uploaders? Checking the patches I'm a bit worried about a few things. In the gnome-screensaver part, the patch introduces the static function in_desktop() in both gs-lock-plug.c and gs-window-x11.c. I know it's nice to have helper functions like these 'local' but I'm always reluctant whenever I see boilerplate code like this. Maybe it could be made global and somehow shared? I guess it's fine if there's a lot of boilerplate there already, would have to check the codebase. The gnome-desktop3 part seems good but a little bit hacky. Wonder if this could be done in a more generic way. Maybe it's not possible though... Anyway, let's get someone from the GNOME people to take a look before we decide about uploading it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-screensaver in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1703690 Title: Add support for Budgie Desktop using GNOME Screensaver To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-desktop3/+bug/1703690/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
