launcher unusable. Apport doesn't report anything particularly

You can use an ANSI sequence to resize a terminal. The following works
in gnome-terminal:
echo -en '\033[8;25;80t' qemu -curses ...
But it's somewhat impolite to resize a user's terminal automatically
though.

Can this be reopened? I've noticed this problem with gthumb for a few
months now, certainly able to reproduce on Jaunty with a fairly large
animated GIF (~7mb). After the image finishes playing all frames,
gthumb CPU usage spikes up and stays there until I switch to a different
image.

This bug is very frustrating because we're still hanging onto our 7.10
installation that does not have this bug. It would be great to update
to a LTS release, especially since we only have 6 more months of
security support. Since Evolution is used by all of our clients, we
can't make that jump
