[Bug 1852179] Re: Keyboard not working in GIMP 2.10.8 / Ubuntu 19.04

2021-02-15 Thread Clément Hurlin
Same as the previous comments:

* gimp has been working perfectly fine for months

Suddenly, shortcuts do not work:

* Keyboard shortcuts for tool selection like pressing "R" for rectangle select
is not working.
* Also the main menu does not open if I press ALT+F (for File menu).
* Alt shows underlined character but nothing happens.
* Ctrl-o doesn't do anything

Gimp is the only affected application.

Using Ubuntu 20.04, gimp 2.10.18 from default apt sources.

Tried `sudo apt install --reinstall gimp` to no avail.

[Bug 923940] Re: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS set max lcd brightness on every boot

2012-04-27 Thread Clément
I used to lower down brightness around 2. Then after about 15 to 20
seconds of inactivity, the screen used to set itself automatically to 5
and then to 10 suddenly after touching the touchpad. I had to lower down
brightness manually every times.

Problem solved by disabling the lower luminosity to save battery
option in the luminosity/locking options of the gnome parameter menu.

Hello

Also affected here.
LCD doesn't only set brightness max on every boot but every time screen goes
sleep. Pretty anoying.

I can't modify /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness with the echo
command. I got the answer : bash: /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness:
Permission denied.
If it worked, would the modification be definitive ?

[Bug 204413] Re: nautilus memory leak

2009-02-19 Thread Vianney le Clément
I have a similar problem. After some normal use, nautilus eats up 300MB
RAM, with the only remedy being restarting nautilus. I have opened no
folder containing videos, so it isn't the video thumbnailer, however,
there are lots of pdfs which get thumbnailed.

This problem only appeared recently for me. I'm not sure it is related,
but I've started using compiz at about the same time. I don't remember
seeing this bug when I used metacity. It may be a path to explore
(however, I don't have time for it right now).

[Bug 117003] strange scroll when viewing a pdf, after reload, with index in side pane

2007-05-26 Thread Vianney le Clément
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evince

When viewing a pdf in evince, the scrolling is quite strange after
reloading and while the Index side pane is visible. This bug happens
when the view is set to Continuous. When you scroll out of a page and
the next/previous page becomes active (it's border becomes black instead
of gray), the view will jump to the first title on that page, as if
you clicked on it in the side pane.

Tested on Ubuntu Feisty Fawn (Gnome desktop), evince 0.8.1-0ubuntu1.

Steps to reproduce:
- open a pdf with structure information in evince
- make sure View-Continuous is checked
- reload the document (View-Reload or Ctrl+R)
- make sure the side pane is visible and it is set on Index
- scroll down to the next page with a title on it

[Bug 105052] Re: Evolution Exchange Connector does not appear to work

2007-05-23 Thread Patrick Clément-Bonhomme
I ran into the same issue as the original submitter. Unfortunately, the
only thing that was written to my .xsession-errors while I tried to
create the account was :

(evolution-2.10:17383): e-utils-WARNING **: Cannot resolve symbol
'org_gnome_new_mail_config' in plugin
'/usr/lib/evolution/2.10/plugins/liborg-gnome-new-mail-notify.so' (not
exported?)
BBDB spinning up...

...which doesn't seem to be related to our problem.

In my case, the issue lies with authentication. During the Feisty
development cycle (Herd4 - release), the Exchange Connector was working
correctly, e.g. the Forward button was enabled after Exchange
confirmed your credentials with the OWA server by using the
Authenticate button. Since a clean Feisty re-install, I keep getting
the following message while trying to authenticate :

Could not authenticate to server
Make sure the username and password are correct and try again.

Note that for some reason, the button Forward can be enabled by
selecting IMAP in the Server Type box, entering the server name,
clicking Forward, clicking Back then choosing Microsoft Exchange.
That said, the resulting configuration won't work.

Using Feisty with the latest updates. The server I am trying to use is
powered by Microsoft Exchange 2003.

[Bug 36370] wrong Tab-keymap in /usr/share/xmodmap/xmodmap.*

2007-05-06 Thread Vianney le Clément
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

The default keymaps in /usr/share/xmodmap/ for use with xmodmap, have
the following definition for the tab-key :

 keycode 23 = Tab Tab

This means shift-tab works exactly the same as tab, and thus you can't
cycle backwards through the controls of a window. From what I've seen on
the internet, I think, this should be :

 keycode 23 = Tab ISO_Left_Tab

This problem only occurs when using xmodmap. If you're using gnome's
keyboard preferences, it works like a charm. But if you're using dapper
with xgl and compiz, you need to use xmodmap for any non-us keyboard and
you lose shift-tab functionality.

A temporary workaround for this, is to issue these 2 commands when using
xmodmap :

 xmodmap /usr/share/xmodmap/xmodmap.language
 xmodmap -e keycode 23 = Tab ISO_Left_Tab

I've seen this bug in breezy and dapper. Don't know about warty and
hoary.

[Bug 46179] Re: [Dapper] Incorrect default application association in Nautilus

2006-08-30 Thread Patrick Clément-Bonhomme
Ah! I thought it passed moderation, since the fix came out at the
beginning of the month. I am not aware of the policies for updates.

I'll confirm the correction of the bug once the fixed packages are
hitting the repos.

Thanks for fixing such a trivial bug, but those packages don't seem
available in dapper-updates yet.

Did I missed something?

[Bug 34435] Re: Cairo and ATI RENDER extension cause scrambled buttons in UbuntuLooks

2006-05-29 Thread Patrick Clément-Bonhomme
I have the issue as presented above with a Radeon Mobility 9000 (M9) on
a Toshiba Tecra S1, using the radeon driver.

Here are two additional screenshots :
http://www.gel.ulaval.ca/~clemen00/tmp/34435-blue-buttons.png
http://www.gel.ulaval.ca/~clemen00/tmp/34435-garbled-scrollbar.png

The artifacts disappear after hovering the mouse pointer above the
offending widgets (in my case, buttons and scrollbars).

It's even worse when using EXA acceleration :
http://www.gel.ulaval.ca/~clemen00/tmp/34435-EXA.png

Note in the last screenshot that the shiny effects on the buttons and
the progressbars are missing. Hovering the mouse over the widgets
doesn't change anything.

Disabling RenderAccel fixes the issue completely, at the expense of slow
rendering. It only occurs with the ubuntulooks theme coming with Dapper.

2006-05-29 Thread Patrick Clément-Bonhomme
Changed the package affectation from 'gnome-keyring-manager' to 'gnome-
keyring' since the issue is on the latter.

gnome-keyring-manager is a different program.

** Changed in: gnome-keyring-manager (Ubuntu)
Sourcepackagename: gnome-keyring-manager = gnome-keyring

[Bug 46179] [Dapper] Incorrect default application association in Nautilus

2006-05-23 Thread Patrick Clément-Bonhomme
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

Description of Problem:
On a default installation, Nautilus tries to open a PSD (Photoshop Document)
file with Image Viewer (Eye of GNOME). Unfortunately, Image Viewer does not
support PSD.

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Get a PSD file. Alternatively, you can create a new one with The GIMP.
2. Open a file browser window and go to the folder with the PSD file.
3. Double-click on the PSD file.

Actual Results:
The wait cursor shows up for about 15 seconds, then nothing happens.

Expected Results:
The file should be open by an application supporting the PSD format, like The
GIMP.

How often does this happen?
Always.

Additional Information:
This issue is easily fixed by going in the Properties of a PSD file, then
setting the right application in the Open With tab.

That said, the user should not have to correct the association manually
on his shiny, new installation of Ubuntu. The default file association
for PSD should be The GIMP.

** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu)
