There are one too many icons in the System section of System Settings.
Perhaps we should move privacy up to the Personal section or something.

You don't have the ability to block yahoo contact requests anymore. You
can pick Yes, No, or Decide later - not block. The result is every time
you start up Empathy you get asked by the same contacts. This worked in
oneiric, it's currently a regression in the precise build.

Public bug reported:
Initial messages of a conversation are not being displayed in the
window. They show up in the log, but not in the window. Happens with all
protocols. This is a pretty annoying bug. It's similar to bug #475615
but as that's so old I thought a new bug would be applicable.

On a fresh install of artful (today's daily build) everything installs
just fine. Upon initial login gdm says in red text "Failed to start
session".
If you choose GNOME on Wayland (the alternate), you just get a blank
splash and nothing starts.

actually turned out to be my issue.

Public bug reported:
I have been using Wayland for some time. In a recent artful update, my
session reverted to Xorg causing all sorts of HiDPI scaling issues (see
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1714295).
Even though in the gdm3 options Ubuntu (default Wayland) was selected,
it was using Xorg.
It turns out my title bar issue was because my session had reverted to X
for some reason rather than Wayland. I had to select X and then select
Ubuntu again in order for it to choose and launch Wayland. After that my
desktop is working as expected again.

After applying the latest artful updates today and rebooting, the login
screen is correctly scaled but after I login DPI scaling doesn't apply
correctly. Everything is super tiny.
If I launch gnome tweak tool then the screen snaps and then applications
are correctly scaled.
On the affected system if you launch gnome tweak tool will it do the
appropriately HiDPI scaling for everything but the title bar and
notifications?

Just to provide more information - my initial report was incorrect. I
did in fact see the tearing on the laptop display. It seems whenever
you're using non-integer scaling with Xorg, that's what happens.

OK, so an update. I removed fwupd from my system and I can confirm that
once I can get the displays to sleep, they stay that way as they should.
Now for the weird part... they won't go to sleep on their own. Doesn't
matter whether I'm in Wayland or Xorg - they won't go to sleep on their
own. DPMS
I don't use nightlight and disabling bolt didn't help. As I think it's

see what happens.

I've disabled fwupd and cups and I still see it in the morning when I come
into the office. I'm inclined to shutdown boltd and see if that stops it
from happening since I don't have anything plugged into the thunderbolt
port at this time.

I disabled the color profile of both of my displays and my printer and the
displays are still awake in the morning. I did check the PID of gnome-shell
