This help will succeed up to this command

sudo apt-get install gir1.2-gexiv2-0.10 gir1.2-osmgpsmap-1.0

it results to

[Bug 1473156] [NEW] Deadfreeze above 10k of photos

2015-07-09 Thread EricDHH
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 14.04LTS / Linuxmind Rafaela LTS AMD64

Tested versions shotwell 0.18. LTS / 0.20.0 from yorba ppa

Assumed function: Shotwell should be able to import photos and deal with
larger amount of them by internal database.

Expired function: Above 10k of photos the import from folder or update
settled photo folder shotwell go into a deepfreeze. Means that the
knight rider animation for input freeze up, harddisk stop searching and
cpu load from shotwell turns to solid zero. The shotwell window can now
be wiped with other program windows, started from within terminal there
is no stop or crash response. Shotwell needs to be closed hard by
taskmanager, nothing appears in the console. As described this happens
to 0.18 and 0.20 and renders the software useless for photo collectors.

12163 photos, 53gb of data, a collection since 2001

[Bug 1464724] [NEW] MP3 stutter within DLNA

2015-06-12 Thread EricDHH
Public bug reported:

Lxmint Rebecca (Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS)
Ideapad S10-2 Intel Atom Singlecore 1.66Ghz

Banshee discovers my DLNA box (1000mbit wired, able to stream 3 HD video
at same time) and start to scan all songs on the device. While the scan
it is not able to play a 256kBit MP3, this results to empty buffers and
stop motion. Playing while scan eat a lot of cpu cycles within banshee,
after 20 minutes the scan is done >20k of files are in the list and the
buffer underrun is gone.

Expected: Banshee keep an eye on discovery and scan to prevent buffer
empty situations. VLC does the same, try to scan full collection at
startup and break the playback. A bigger play buffer, maybe a full track
can prevent this.

[Bug 1449045] Re: BQ 4.5 mobile position is wrong on cell radio

Had used Here and Google Maps to check this, but this problem was fixed
by the r22 upgrade release this week. The phone grab the right position
without GPS now.

So this bug can be closed as solved if no one else will respond to it.

[Bug 1449045] [NEW] BQ 4.5 mobile position is wrong on cell radio

2015-04-27 Thread EricDHH
Public bug reported:

Ubuntuphone bq 4.5 14.10 (r21)

For this bug GPS is switched off, so location service have to use other
informations.

Work pretty well within wlan, so hamburg is hamburg and environment.

When i leave the house and congstar radio is used, the locations jumps
to schwalmstadt (hesse) what is 500km far away from hamburg. Going back
into my wlan the location service is able to switch to hamburg again.

Congstar use the t-mobile.de APN, don't know if that is related for this
bug. All apps and programs related to the location service jump between
hamburg and schwalmstadt.

2013-03-26 Thread EricDHH
Public bug reported:

Description:Ubuntu 12.10

To eject a cd, dvd, usb stick or else we have to right click on the

crash and redraw everything. The menu closes by this restart, so you
have to right click again.

[Bug 904238] Re: bluetooth-applet: does not save on/off state over reboots

2013-02-01 Thread EricDHH
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 446657 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/446657

This already exist in 12.10, but it seems to be no duplicate.

Situation on thinkpad x61s: On boot or login bluetooth will be force
enabled, switching it off will not survive a logout or reboot.

The dbus passthrough from #446657 is working well here, but is
overridden by the force on desktop setting.

Please offer backport to LTS, cause there are many netbooks and subnotes
with lower screen resolution out in the fields. They need every trick
and ideas to place enough on the screen.

2012-08-07 Thread EricDHH
12.04 amd64

Just mount a nfs share from my NAS box, and nautilus create a trashbin
again and again. Sorry, this is not okay. The dlna server on the nas box

database is crappy from this bug.

Please fix this bone old bug.

[Bug 853292] Re: Left arrow inactive

2012-03-26 Thread EricDHH
Now i understand the complication, if there is a history and i jump in
with the house symbol then i cannot move to another point. My home is
the first history point, i can move down to the tree and back to my
home. It's a bit confusing that i cannot press the left arrow again to
get /home.

Okay let's close this bug for now, i take a look to brainstorm if other
users feels the same.

2012-03-26 Thread EricDHH
Installed 12.04b1: The bug already exists, the arrow is greyed out when
in homefolder. There is no way to jump upwards but to change the text
field. Should be easy to unlock this by a programmer.

This bug seems to live over releases and have birthday soon.

Life booted a 12.04b1 stick, there this bug exists too. Any opened nautilus

[Bug 833379] Re: Backlight jumping between full and normal

2011-09-04 Thread EricDHH
Allow me a thumb question, where is the configurator for the backlight
dimming? We are on beta now, fresh packages in the last minutes but the
bug still exists. What can the old profile set wrong in difference to
the new profile? Is there a chance to reset some thing in the old
profile?

[Bug 833379] Re: Backlight jumping between full and normal

2011-08-26 Thread EricDHH
Got 80meg of updates today but no change of this problem.

But a new hint, do we have a problem with existing user configs?

When login with an old 11.04 user the bug occurs.

When login with a new plain user the laptop is backlighting and dimming
right.

When login'd with the new user and theirafter with the old user the
problem is away till reboot.

[Bug 833379] [NEW] Backlight jumping between full and normal

2011-08-24 Thread EricDHH
Public bug reported:

Oneiric alpha on thinkpad x41
Since todays updates the backlight drives me crazy. It jumps while simply using
the computer to full power in battery mode. The thinkpad buttons only move the
thinkpad osd slider, but the backlight stays full power. If the pointer is
moved or a key pressed, the backlight jumps back to normal and switchable state.
I did not found an option in the new gnome power manager to handle the
brightness. Seems that the machine idle turns the backlight on full power, need
sunglasses now.

[Bug 786623] [NEW] Totem coherence sudden freezes

2011-05-22 Thread EricDHH
Public bug reported:

Description:Ubuntu 11.04
Release:11.04 amd64
totem 2.32.0-0ubuntu

Something that works perfectly in i386, when playing some files from upnp totem
goes to sudden freezes. The screen and filelist turns grey, the played song was
played to end. It did not wake up from this state again, must be killed by
taskmgr and works again for a few song.
VLC goes sometime in short greyout, but finds out from itself and plays on.
Don't know why these quirks only affects the amd64 distri and works very well
on i386.

[Bug 695506] [NEW] GDM drummed me while it is configure to silence

2010-12-29 Thread EricDHH
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gdm

Ubuntu netbook 10.10 i386
gdm2.30.5-0ubuntu

This netbook release comes with a gdm config tool that seems to be able to
switch off the annoying drum sound at gdm start. The machine was clean
installed with 10.10 unity netbook, the drum sound is disabled in the gdm
config tool, but it is drumming all time gdm is ready.
If we have a tool for that, it should be functional. I hate the drum sound,
much in silent environments.

Maybe this is a dupe with 675918

[Bug 677178] Re: Application startup without menu panel

2010-12-16 Thread EricDHH
Please fix this much annoying showstopper, it did not appear in 11.04
development branch and did not exist in 10.04. It is ugly to switch the
desktop theme for some applications to get them proper working.
