After some investigation, I think this is a codec error: In Intrepid
gst-fluendo-mpegdemux should be responsible for decoding the stream. But
in Jaunty, fluendo-mpegdemux conflicts with gst-plugins-bad (universe)
so it can't be installed. If I try with just fluendo and no plugins-bad,
totem shows

Okay I finally found a bug report which had a solution that worked for me.
I had to delete /usr/share/icons/gnome/icon-theme.cache and now nautilus works
again.
Hmm I don't recall if my last update also updated nautilus. Maybe deleting the
cache after

The fix from upstream is that the user is prompted to emtpy the trash
when the drive is unmounted. This fix is in Karmic, but a big problem is
that this dialog is not triggered when ejecting a drive in Nautilus,
only when unmounting.

I connected from a different computer to this server (and I also tried a

Nautilus does not
I'm experiencing this bug on a VM running the latest Karmic. I did not
change any settings regarding gdm, they should all be default values. I
don't even have any gdm.conf or custum.conf in /etc/gdm (There is ony a
gdm.schemas).

I have the same problem, but found a solution, that worked for me at least:
I noticed, that after installing the package sound-theme-freedesktop and
setting the sound theme to default in the audio properties, empathy made
sounds. So I decided to look at the files and found the following: There

(message-new-instant.ogg) is extremely quiet (too quiet for my taste
at least). Even with alert volume at maximum I can barely hear it.

Only few other program like amaroK recognize the tags correctly.

Steps to reproduce:
Right click on the gnome menu and click edit menus.
Then click on a program.
Right click and select properties
Then left click on the icon
Then click browse.
PNGs are not displayed here. It is not clear that this dialogue box is for
selecting the folder only.

Binary package hint: alacarte
When choosing an icon for a menu item, their is the button browse, when
in fact you are choosing the directory. When I clicked browse I expected
to see compatible files (pngs) in this folder selection window.

Those blinking Caps Lock and Scroll Lock lights mean you experienced a
kernel panic. This has nothing to do with this bug. Please file a
separate bug for your problem.

needed: libv4l and associated application patches (or gspca stopped working in
2.6.27)
One workaround (this really doesn't deserve the name...) is to just
open the disk space analyzer and keep it in the background. This mutes
the messages.
Would really be nice if this bug would be fixed asap, it's things like
these that make Ubuntu less and less fun to use with every release.
