the root branch of anything following.

I know that.
But, 99% of gnome users wil get confused by reading Kib, Gib instead of KB, GB.
As baobab is a gnome-utils component and all major Gnome applications such as
nautilus are using KB,MB and GB, it is a matter of consistancy to keep symbols

If you scan your HOME folder, the first entry is always 100% as it is the
root of the subsequent tree. All the subfolders to HOME refers in percentage
how much space they use vs. the HOME 100%. That's normal. If you want to see
how much space

partecipating.
I will bring them your position.
As I said, make a full filesystem scan, and you will get answer to your
question concerning HOME folder.

As I am understanding, this possibile bug is related only to ntfs long
names, so maybe the title should be tuned up.
Anyway, hard links are correclty reported in Baobab. Try scanning
/usr/bin folder and you will see that in the folder description will be
displayed Contains hard links for: xx MB.

We can investigate more, but I can assure that baobab scans each file in each
directory, without discarding anything that is readable to the user.
Don't know what nautilus does. Could you pls check if your misc folder
contains any not standard file?

I don't know how nautilus sums up space in the Properties window, but
Baobab makes a full scan, file by file, traversing every directory and
getting the size from g_file_info_get_size() from Gio library.

maybe the user refers to the fact that in current version baobab Help
fails to start.
This bug has already been fixed upstream and will be available in next
major version: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=580139

We will test even deeply, but we can't replicate the problem. I have
tried with external disks, NTFS partitions, remote connection with ssh,
but every time the data was congruent with usage.
