I actually noticed this as well. It would be nice in terms of consistancy, and can't be hard to implement. [Bug 112850] Re: cube effect does not work
I've had the same issue. It was working for a short period of time, but then stopped working, possibly when I edited the number of workspaces. At the moment, if I enable desktop effects, the number of workspaces is set to 1, no matter what it was before, and there is no cube effect.
