I have just tried the workaround above in gutsy. Couple of additionals:
(1) The additions to .bashrc can be summarised to:
export PATH=$HOME/opt/bin:$PATH
export LIBDIR=$HOME/opt/lib
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LIBDIR:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH
export LD_RUN_PATH=$LIBDIR:$LD_RUN_PATH
which should work for
Super-S in Unity shows virtual desktops. I can't find a workaround for
this. It's driving me nuts.

2. I searched for bookmark
3. I clicked on the first result, Edit folder bookmarks
4. The documentation says:
