Upstream approval is absolutely required here. In any case, it looks
like NautilusDesktopBackground has been removed in 3.7. Would someone
that uses multiple screens please try version 3.7 to see if it fixes the
problem? And then maybe we can backport the changes and SRU in to the
other releases:
I can confirm this on 12.04 when connecting to GTalk using empathy. Notes:
- Using LXDE, I see "connection untrusted".
- Using Unity, there is no error and it works fine.
- Comment #39 fixes it for me when using LXDE.

Unfortunately, the patch to gnome-settings-daemon didn't get in soon
enough to make the raring release, and we're past feature freeze. But at
the same time, we also don't have a new enough x11proto-core to use the
XF86MicMute keysym anyway. The first version that works is
xproto-7.0.24, released on
Looks like this has been upstreamed as well. Since we have not yet
explicitly gotten the "F20" to be the new XF86MicMute key, upstream
g-s-d devs just mapped it to F20 themselves.

We don't have a patch that fixes the problem yet. Once upstream fixes it
we can take their patch back and use that, but Ubuntu engineering
doesn't really do development work on Totem.

I have also ran into the bug on Precise 12.04 LTS, which is really a
shame for an LTS release.
However, I have found a work around that resets the side pane for an
afflicted PDF file.
If you can not longer make the size pane smaller:
[1] Close the offending PDF if it is currently opened in evinc
just want to say for those still stuck with this bug, and I'm not sure
it's an option for you all. But I moved to lxde, and you might want to
try a different window manager. This bug has been so persistent for so
long I'm you might want to try and just find your own workround, i.e. a

Just got done corresponding with seb128 about this, Robert Ancell said
patching the indicator to warn about other logged users should fix the
most common cases and not be too hard.
