[Bug 1812527] Re: [bionic][regression] gnome-shell crashes with SIGSEGV in meta_window_actor_is_destroyed(self=NULL) called from _switchWorkspaceDone() [windowManager.js:1787]
On my end, I haven't been able to reproduce this so far with Ubuntu Appindicators disabled. It's very stable for me now. I am not 100% sure this is the fix for me, time will tell. [Bug 1812527] Re: [bionic][regression] gnome-shell crashes with SIGSEGV in meta_window_actor_is_destroyed(self=NULL) called from _switchWorkspaceDone() [windowManager.js:1787]
@Daniel, I understand that you want to reproduce it. However, if you aren't experiencing this bug, then that tells me you don't have a hardware configuration that is affected by it. If you're affected, reproducing it is very easy - simply use the keyboard shortcut designated for switching up or down to another workspace. Every time I do this, I have a one in five chance of GNOME crashing. It's so common that I have no chance of NOT reproducing it. As for apps, if it matters, I only have Firefox, Thunderbird, and gnome- terminal open at any one time. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gjs in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1812527 Title: [bionic][regression] gnome-shell crashes with SIGSEGV in meta_window_actor_is_destroyed(self=NULL) called from _switchWorkspaceDone() [windowManager.js:1787] To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gjs/+bug/1812527/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Public bug reported: Binary package hint: alacarte While I was previously using only Kubuntu Intrepid, I decided to install ubuntu-desktop to see what's happening with Ubuntu Intrepid. When I started to set up my GNOME Menu by rightclicking the application bar and clicking edit menus, I noticed that the changes I was making to Gnome's menu were also affecting the KDE menu. For example, when I sorted the GNOME Games in Alacarte just the way I like them, the next time I logged into KDE, all the entries I edited in Gnome were copied over to KDE's Lost Found section. When I accessed kmenuedit to move those icons out of lost and found, the next time I logged into Gnome those entries were moved to Other. It's a never ending cycle. When installing new applications, the menu entries are created in both KDE and GNOME as expected. However, when you edit the GNOME menu, the changes you make should not make any changes at all in the KDE menu, and vice versa. Other than APT putting the application links in both desktop environments, the menus should be completely self contained. Unfortunately I don't have easy steps to reproduce the problem, but these points should do it. First of all, I don't install themes by dragging to the appearance manager. I download all my themes from gnome-look.org, then I extract them and copy them to /usr/share/themes, that way the theme carries over to administrative applications as well. So in short, copying a bunch of extracted theme folders to /usr/share/themes is what I do. This has been the way I've been doing this for years now, and it's always worked.
