[Bug 21499] Re: [Bug 21499] Re: gdm crashes at first char of password after upgrade to Breezy

2006-04-15 Thread Matthias Jordan
Hi, Carthik! Is the issue resolved when you use the latest version in Dapper? Does the patch Sebastien suggested work? I just changed gdm.conf back to using bullets instead of asterisks and - voilá! - it works like a charm. So for me it looks like the bug is history. Thanks for working on it!

Hi, Sebiastien! does it always crash with the other set of char for it? As of now, it doesn't crash at all. Not with the asterisks and not with the bullets. If this doesn't answer your question, please explain what you refer to as the other set of char. Matthias -- gdm crashes at first char

Please also see http://logicalnetworking.net/other/watchdog.txt and search for all instances of 'gconfd-2' . Seems that it is pretty common for it to hang around upon normal exit of an LTSP TC session, which package gnome-watchdog sees and forcefully kills to keep stale processes to a minimum. --

[Bug 269541] Re: gconfd-2 becomes orphane when parent process crashes

2008-11-07 Thread Jordan Erickson
This bug causes LTSP users grief without a stale process 'cleanup' program such as gnome-watchdog. It will cause unexpected behavior when logged out (thus the gconfd-2 process stays alive) and logging back in, as there is conflicting processes, causing crashes and other unexpected GNOME behavior.
