Btw, as I've said it's Ubuntu Dapper 6.06, AMD64 and not edgy. I've just
tried to gdb gedit when opening file from a virtual screen created by
screen but got:

Just tried with both of KDE and icewm session selected at GDM, gedit
/tmp/console.log from terminal window result in crash again, returning

interesting part follows: no segfault with compilation, however it always
segfaults when installing deb package from dapper repository. Please note that

However I ran valgrind against update-desktop-database binary from
repository with intent: because as I've written the compiled version
seems to behave differently. However the second attachment I've posted
some minutes ago was done with the compiled version.

rhythmbox uses about 10-20% CPU for playing an average MP3 or a
streaming radio. It's surprisingly high CPU usage on machine of today,
even on Pentium 100 this CPU usage can be produced by optimized players.

uses (I mean process 'gst-launch-0.10') around 10-20% CPU, again. So
maybe it's not rhythmbox related, but gstreamer? I've just checked out
svn repository of beep-media-player-2 uses gstreamer as well: it uses
about the same
Just tried on an AMD64 box (2GHz CPU), the same, somewhat smaller CPU
usage, but 10% is far more than it should be , I think (and it's now
only a 128kbit/s mp3 file). Since both the i386 - I've reported the bug
from - and this machine is installed by me, I'm thinking about if it's
my fault ...

Sometimes, system starts up right but sometimes doesn't ... Strange.
I've backlisted tv tuner card modules, then I load them in the last
script in /etc/rcS.d. In this way, order is always right, however it's
ugly and fixed (ie: if I change tv tuner card it is required to modify

Strange. This bug triggers _all_ the time I tried to start gnome session
(altough sometimes it simply existed, sometimes presented a dialog
instead). Now, changed gnome-session to a little shell script to do
valgrind the renamed real gnome-session, its log it attached. However,

I'm using feisty since then, I can't reproduce this bug at least. On my
AMD64 desktop machine, it does load, on x86 notebook it saturates the

I've got this problem as weil, with version 2.18.0-0ubuntu3 on AMD64,
I've just reported as bug #99351 but I was told that that's a

Just created another drawer, and I can't reproduce the bug either.
interesting, since (as screenshots show) that was the case at the fist
time ... I've created another drawer, moved items from the old (and
buggy) one, then deleted the the old one. The new one works without
problem.

Notification
Similar issue for me, desribed (with screenshots) in bug #37783 which seems to
be duplication of this report. An unwanted space exists between some icons and
yes, with transparent panel it will be shown as three vertical lines, just
check the screenshots in my report to compare.

I still have this problem with Inrepid as well. Is it possible that
neither of compiz and nor the compositing support in metacity like the
idea that I have dual head configuration in xorg.conf?
