My screen is being detected properly at 135 dpi. My gnome capplet
correctly shows 135 dpi.
The problem is the combination of high dpi and low resolution screen
(1024x600) that is common on netbooks.
The result is most gnome dialog boxes don't fit the screen anymore with

10pt on a 135dpi monitor is bigger than 10pt on a 96dpi monitor).

actual issue here is that there is a bug somewhere that is making pt
fonts get dpi-adjusted _twice_, and px fonts are being dpi-adjusted
once.
