To reproduce, i have made a simply app, that write number of Ctrlspace press
But when you press only space without Ctrl, accelerator callback function are
called.
Other example in Rhythmbox, I can't use space character in search entry,
it's very annoying.

gnome-session use now gnome-wm has default window manager not directly metacity
gnome-wm get the window manager in gconf key
/app/gnome-session/gnome-wm/window_manager
gnome-appareance capplet use /desktop/gnome/applications/window_manager/default
gconf key and it's obsolete

I have noticed gvfs-gdu-volume-monitor doesn't crash if the package
devicekit-disks are installed
gvfs-gdu-volume-monitor crash only if no programme provide the dbus service
org.freedesktop.DeviceKit.Disks.service.
