Besides that, Florence still is in english, it should be Firenze

[Bug 369222] [NEW] rhythmbox gives error on 1.fm radio stations

2009-04-29 Thread Paolo Benvenuto
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

When I begin streaming a 1.fm radio station (I often listen to Otto's
baroque music station
http://www.1.fm/TuneIn/WM/energybaroque128k/Listen.aspx ), rhythmbox
gives an error, as it needed a plugin, and it asks if it has to look for
a plugin. Answering no, the radio station stream begins without problems

[Bug 374756] [NEW] epiphany downloading to /tmp instead of Desktop

2009-05-11 Thread Paolo Benvenuto
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: epiphany-browser

Despite of being Desktop the default download location in Hardy and
Intrepid, with Jaunty epiphany has come back to downloading to /tmp.

That is quite annoying, because the user isn't told where the downloaded
file is being saved. Besides that, /tmp content is deleted at boot up,
so that every downloaded file is lost at reboot.

[Bug 239305] Re: autodownloading doesn't save files in proper folder

2009-05-11 Thread Paolo Benvenuto
I'm running jaunty from a fresh intrepid install.

epiphany is downloading in /tmp.

I'm seeing that in epiphany preferences the downloading folder is set to
file system, and even if I change it to Desktop (as I was used),
closing the preferences and opening them again re-set downloading folder
to file system again. I.e., I have no way to change the downloading
folder.

[Bug 374757] Re: nothing to do with downloaded file with unknown extension

2009-05-12 Thread Paolo Benvenuto
I've modified the bug title.

The real problem is that a file with unknown extension remains in the
download window when downloading finishes, and the user can't do
anything with it.

I expect that the download window gives me the possibility (via right
click contestual menu) to go to the download folder, or to open it with
some custum application.

Actually the only thing the user can do with such downloaded files is to
stop downloading, i.e. to delete them since they are in /tmp and /tmp
content is deleted at reboot.

** Summary changed:

- no way to end almost finished downloadings

[Bug 285682] Re: Ubuntu 8.10 can't mount digital camera showing a window popup message: -60 could not lock the device message

2009-05-13 Thread Paolo Benvenuto
Jaunty fully updated, the bug is still present.

I'm using gthumb to import the photos.

When connecting my camera, the camera card is mount TWICE, i.e. I get
two camera icons in drivemount applet, and gthumb --import cannot use
the device because it's already locked, I suppose because it's mounted
as an external storage.

The bug is present even on a fresh guest session: connecting the camera
asks whether to use f-spot or gthumb, and selecting gthumb says the
device is locked.

Anyone could say it's not a bug because you can download the photos from
the mounted storage, but it's not so: the user isn't told the storage is
mounted, and anyway copying from storage doesn't perform some tasks that
gthumb performs, such adjusting orientation and renaming the photos.

So we still have the bug.

Using ghpoto instead of gthumb to download the photos resolves the
issue. Apparently because gphoto unmonts the storage before donwloading,
and so should do gthumb.

I think the bug should be marked as a gthumb one.

It's definitely exists, as the guest session proves, so please reopen
it.

[Bug 351122] Re: gthumb doesn't work with gphoto (was please disable gphoto2 backend for Jaunty)

2009-05-13 Thread Paolo Benvenuto
Doesn't work for me, I have ghtumb 3:2.10.11-0ubuntu1 installed and at
connecting the camera, the gthumb import dialog tells me the device is
locked, i.e. is the SD storage is mounted.

I think gthumb could act as f-spot, i.e. unmounting the storage before
trying to import the photos, and then mounting it again when finishing
importing the photos.

result:

But when I reboot the bug is there: the 2nd instance is trying to run
and the cpu is busy.

I cant' understand why the reboot process provokes a different result
than restarting the session.

Yes, it's reproducible: It's present in my guest session too.

Steps:

- open nautilus
- ctl-2 to put in in list view
- unfold a folder that has files inside, using the triangle at the left of the
file name: you will see the files in that folder (let's suppose it's the folder
Desktop)
- ctl-h to show hidden files = folder Desktop is shrinked, (folded) BUG the
user expects that Desktop remains unfolded

see the libgweather update. How much does it take to reach the archives
I download with aptitude update?

[Bug 356245] Re: clock applet: location names should be presented in default language, not in english

2009-04-24 Thread Paolo Benvenuto
Installed libgweather1 2.26.1-0ubuntu2 from jaunty-proposed, apparently
it work: Genova, Milano, Torino, Roma, are in Italian (correct).
Although (weird) Firenze doesn't work, Florence works instead, but it
looks like a fault in translating the city names

[Bug 391072] [NEW] screensaver shortcut not removed after screensaver purge

2009-06-23 Thread Paolo Benvenuto
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-screensaver

I had gnome-screensaver installed, I purged it (sudo aptitude purge
gnome-screensaver), but after purging the shortcut alt-ctl-L tells me
(in a little notification window) that it doesn't find the xscreensaver
command.

The alt-ctl-L shortcut should be eliminated when purging gnome-
screensaver.

[Bug 447954] [NEW] applications minimized to notification area should maintain the state they had in last session when a new gnome session is started

2009-10-10 Thread Paolo Benvenuto
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

It's very annoying that application I usually keep minimized in the
notification area are presented in the work area when the session is
restarted.

Gnome should provide a way to remember the state about minimization in
the notification area, and applications that can be minimized there
should provide an option to start them in the notification area.

And the gnome session should be started letting minimized in the
notification area the applications that were there when the session was
started.

[Bug 183136] Re: Error while Storing folder apos;INBOXapos;

2009-08-31 Thread Paolo Benvenuto
Experimenting the same bug since some 6 month, I must close and restart
evolution, and many times restarting doesn't solve the problem.

I backup up my data with the menu backupa and restore, without luck:
everything is the same.

I'm using italian locale. Once it happened that it gave the error, and
shutting it down and restarting it with LC_ALL=C gave no error. When
running it from the gnome menu again (italian!) , the error appeared
again. Next time I launched with LC_ALL=C the error was there.

Did anyone evaluate whether the bug is a non-C locale only? Subscribers,
please report what locale you are getting the bug with.

Besides that, it has been a month that, after 2-3 days of continuous
runnign, evolution hangs and I must kill the process.

I have been using evolution since 2002, and perhapes some change in
directory structure have happened, and perhaps I have some wrong dir...
anyone could post here the correct directory structure in ~/.evolution ?
thank you!

This bug is very annoying, and makes me very nervious with evolution

[Bug 183136] Re: Error while Storing folder apos;INBOXapos;

2009-08-31 Thread Paolo Benvenuto
I moved all the messages I had in inbox to another folder and expunged
inbox.

Result: error while storing inbox

shutdown evolution and restart it

result: all inbox messages are there

expunged inbox

resulte: expunge ok

shutdown evolution and restarted it

now I have no message in inbox, but I keep getting the error error while
storing the folder inbox. In the terminal:
$ LC_ALL=C evolution
** (evolution:13297): DEBUG: mailto URL command: evolution %s
** (evolution:13297): DEBUG: mailto URL program: evolution

didn't get it 2893726
evolution-mail-Message: Error occurred while existing dialogue active:

I fetch mail from google, and if I disable the automatic fetching I get no
error. I get the error only after evolution check the mail on google, and I get:

(evolution:13643): camel-local-provider-WARNING **: Expected a From line
here, didn't get it 2893726

note that inbox is void!!!

perhaps a bug with google pop server or in the pop routine?

How to reproduce it:

- go to a fresh guest session
- run evolution and in configure it with your google account; set it to fetch
mail every x minutes
- every time you run evolution it will fetch your gmail mail, and when it
doesn't find any mail it gives the error while storing folder 'INBOX'.

[Bug 1885378] [NEW] nautillus mounts nfs shares when searching

2020-06-27 Thread Paolo Benvenuto
Public bug reported:

I have a nas running readynas 6, I'm mounting on my pc its nfs shares,
in fstab they are like

nas:/data/Documents /media/nas.nfs/Documents nfs4
async,user,rw,auto,user 0 2

readynas uses the snapshot folder in its /data/Documents folder in order
to save the daily backups

when /media/nas.nfs/Documents is mounted, if I perform a nautilus search
in that folder I get all the /media/nas.nfs/Documents/snapshot and
/media/nas.nfs/Documents/snapshot/* folders mounted.

Once mounted I cannot umount them any more, nor with sudo.

2020-06-29 Thread Paolo Benvenuto
I get everything umounted with

$ sudo umount /media/nas.nfs/Documents/snapshot/

I must be root: from nautilus the eject button says "operation not
permitted", but why? nautilus mounted it, and it cannot umount it!

sudo lsof | grep snapshot

says:

lsof: WARNING: can't stat() fuse.gvfsd-fuse file system /run/user/1000/gvfs
  Output information may be incomplete.

and only reports lines which relate to chromium-browser or darktable
