Changing the access right for .dmrc alone doesn't changed anything, but this
sequence solved this problem (my user name is 'pit'):

Since having gone to great pain to create a set of gEDA mime icons in
time for Gutsy, I'm rather distraught to find Nautilus is now ignoring
them in hardy...
This is due to an issue with the fallback order of icons with the GIO
backend in

It does this by asking GTK to find the most specificly named icon first,

By using nasos method, I identified ghostscript to be the process which is
blocking my memory stick.

I've had a similar problem, I copied one file to a memory card using
nautilus, copying another one with a similar file cause nautilus to
starting using 100% CPU and increasing memory usage. Killing the
nautilus window and forcibly quiting stopped the runaway process.

I have filed a support request against Gmail. You should do the same by
following this link and describing the details of the problem:

If enough people will report this issue perhaph the Gmail guys will fix

No need to remove them. It appears to be just one file,
xdg-desktop-menu-dummy.menu
which is pwned by root for some stupid reason. Just sudo chown -R username
.config
and it will work.

It happens with different pdf files not just one in particular. I've also
noticed it with eps files. In the case of eps files it happened yesterday. I
discovered that when closing the file, a process called gs was still listed in
System Monitor. Each time I opened a new eps file a new gs file
I've managed to reproduce this problem with eps files. Attached is a
screen shot of System Monitor showing Evince spawning what appears to be
two identical gs processes. Note that these gs processes are using 26%
CPU each. This varies up to around 40% and just hangs there
indefinitely.
