[Bug 1799293] Re: gnome session: Must ask twice to lock the screen

2018-11-23 Thread Plurtu
> I have no Dash to Dock installed, so I cannot even try the workaround
from #7.

Ubuntu Dock is derived from Dash to Dock and abides by the same
settings. You can change the transparency setting from the terminal
with:

gsettings set org.gnome.shell.extensions.dash-to-dock transparency-mode

[Bug 1799430] Re: Icon dock visible on lock screen

2018-11-16 Thread Plurtu
The most common 18.10 stack trace I've seen people report is due to the
transparency setting. However anything that triggers an exception in
Dash to Dock when it is disabled on the lockscreen produces this issue
so there are many possible causes.

[Bug 1769383] Re: Ubuntu dock/launcher is shown on the lock screen

2018-11-15 Thread Plurtu
@jamesh your stack trace is caused by Ubuntu Dock's dynamic transparency
which I mentioned before in Comment #17 and can be disabled with the
following terminal command:

gsettings set org.gnome.shell.extensions.dash-to-dock transparency-mode

On 18.10 it still happens without Dash to Dock being installed.

Workaround for 18.10 is to change the Dash to Dock setting "Customize
opacity - Tune the dash background opacity" to "Fixed".

[Bug 1799787] Re: gnome-shell crashes when forcing a restart if applications are started on multiple workspaces

I was unable to reproduce a crash following your steps on Xorg. I tried
15 applications launched across 15 workspaces and gnome-shell could be
restarted without issues.

Only the Dash to Dock part of the original description affected me, I'm
using Wayland so I can't restart gnome-shell.

[Bug 1224438] Re: Menus on evince black with grey text.

2014-04-13 Thread Plurtu
The root cause is the use of transparency in the Lubuntu-default theme.
Can be fixed by editing:

/usr/share/themes/Lubuntu-default /gtk-3.0/gtk-widgets-toolbar.css

And replacing '@transparent' with '@bg_color'.

Deleting the file altogether also seems to work with no apparent
problems.

Lubuntu Trusty Beta 2 no longer has this file and the buttons in evince
have been removed in favor of a more traditional menu bar.
