I had this issue in VM consistently when loggin in with Xorg. No problems with
Wayland.
Tried the patch from above ppa and it appears to have solved problem.
Will do physical install on laptop to verify

I figured out the problem. When I upgraded to precise, totem did not
upgrade properly and I was left with oneirc totem that was broken. After
uninstalling all totem packages and reinstalling precise totem,
everything works.

I was burning wav files to cd. I tried downgrading cdrao and wodim to
hardy packages, gnomebaker, and k3b and none of the cds were playable. I
did the same files on my hardy machine and brasero worked first time.
Iso images seem to burn OK. I suppose it could be the drives. THe
Intrepid machine

recorded from cassette tape. Despite careful editing with Audacity to
make sure that rate and sample are 44100 and 16 bit and convert to

I can also confirm this problem with Firefox 3. I had to downgrade my
uncle's computer to Firefox 2. He uses dialup and never had any problem
before. Firefox 3 always starting offline was really confusing him.
I hope this gets fixed soon. It is really tough for folks who have to
use a modem
