The totem plugin sources had to be tweaked a bit as well.
Please note that coherence patch is sufficient to be used by totem, I
haven't checked the other clients yet (I recall rhythmbox could use
coherence too).
As the plugin was disabled
OTOH the plugin was dropped by Totem upstream and since the Coherence
upstream is unactive (last change is around a year ago) there is a
little chance the patches can end up being in Debian or Ubuntu.

beginning of do_lid_closed_action method, there is code starting with
comment - /* check we won't melt when the lid is closed */. Well if I

In gEdit 3.2.0 statusbar shows only syntax highlight mode, insert/replace mode,
line/column count, tab width (at screenshot). There is no way to change
encoding in it =( I
So by phrase change text encoding from editor's menu I mean any way to
view text in another encoding from editor itself without strange actions
as going to gconf-editor and replacing some string values in it.

I have same problem in Ubuntu 11.04 x64 when connecting to Windows 2008 x64

FTP in Nautilus was going wierd just after update from Ubuntu 10.10.

2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux.
In my case, bug started to showup after adding ru.png us.png images
for keyboard indicator in /usr/share/pixmaps. As I think now, where may
be a problem with gnome
One more sympthom: I may manually switch to Ambience theme, but icon
theme remains default.
Some things I done:
1) Removed all indicator applets from desktop panels;
2) In gconf-editor, set /desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/indicator/showFlags
back to 0/false/unchecked state;
3) Remove all
Just look in .profile .bashrc and other autorun files for setxkbmap or
similar commands - it's rather usual cause of strange keyboard behavior
after start of terminal session.

So, it turns out that the path checks are not very robust:
The path comparison uses the urlencoded strings but the case of
hexadecimal letters is not preserved. E.g. for me it checks the
following paths:
