[Bug 586939] [NEW] Workspace Switcher always displays the message 'Current workspace: Desk 1' when the mouse pointer hovers over the selector box, regardless of which workspace is actually being use
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-panel Ubuntu 10.04 LTS - Lucid Lynx Version: 1:2.30.0-0ubuntu1 (gnome-panel) The Workspace Switcher applet located on the panel always displays the following pop-up message (or is it a 'tip'): Current workspace: Desk 1 The message is displayed when the mouse pointer hovers over the Workspace Switcher selector boxes, regardless of which workspace is actually being used it always says Desk 1. I have 3 workspaces set, using 3 cols and 1 row. Note: To submit this bug I used the Terminal command 'ubuntu-bug 1731'. 1731 being the process ID for 'wnck-applet' which is the Workspace Switcher applet. The automated bug reporting system then listed 'gnome- panel' as the package with the bug. I am not entirely sure this is correct, but am proceeding under the (not unreasonable) assumption that wnck-applet is integrated into the gnome-panel package, further re- enforced as wnck-applet does not seem to be listed in the Ubuntu Software package manager. Apologies if this is incorrect, but I could see no other way of reporting this bug. [Bug 367372] Re: Gedit uses 100% of the CPU while editing files
Gedit started using excessive CPU Only since I upgraded to Trusty, 14.04. I am using LUBUNTU but use Gedit, and i have use it for years on Lububtu, with no problem, but now, the CPU runs away, but If I hit Ctrl + S or save it calms down, I am on an older Dell GX280 and when I edit in Gedit the fan begins to go really fast, as soon as I type or paste a character or line, but as soon as I save it, the CPU usage slows down to at least better , right now it is using about 12% CPU , but, I can close Gedit and it drops to 0 to 1 % CPU usage, on average. I was using Gedit on 13.10 with NO problems until I upgraded this box to Trusty. I hope this is the right place to comment, if not, please delete this (admins). I will keep searching to see if anyone else has had a similar experience since upgrading to 14.04. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/367372 Title: Gedit uses 100% of the CPU while editing files To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gedit/+bug/367372/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1245589] Re: Doesn't run, reports a zeitgeist/dbus error
This may be due to something I have changed in my heavily modified system rather than this bug? But it just recently started. Re: [Bug 1972037] Re: Stack Overflow - gnome-control-center
two HDMI screens side-by-side 2 old nvidia cards (both GeForce 8400GS) nvidia driver 340.108 (latest version, required by cards) Xinerama enabled software kept fully up-to-date with stable release Side comment -- gnome seems to crash a lot. This is first situation where I can use gdb to get stack information. Re: [Bug 1972037] Re: Stack Overflow - gnome-control-center
Sebastian, Just turned off Xinerama (for a few minutes). For some reason, the system is unable to use both screens without Xinerama. Played with this a lot when I upgraded to 20.04 from 16.04 (worked nicely before upgrade). FWIW, cursor is a big X on second screen, but no background and no moving windows onto it. [Bug 1963264] Re: Gnome screen recorder doesn't work on dist-upgraded jammy systems
Removing ~/.cache/gstreamer-1.0/ worked for me, too. I upgraded from ‘focal’ to ‘jammy’. Following Bojan's suggestion, ‘pipewiresrc’ appeared in the output of ‘gst-inspect-1.0’ after the purge. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1963264 Title: Gnome screen recorder doesn't work on dist-upgraded jammy systems To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-shell/+bug/1963264/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
