From those numbers It looks like upower is calculating the percentage
based on engery-full-design which was the original capacity of your
battery rather than the current energy-full.
Reassigning to upower since gnome is just doing what its told. Could
well be a kernel bug though.

This seems to have been triggered by the glib update on ubuntu-desktop
ppa. No partitions from fstab (apart from root of course) are getting
mounted at boot. This is just a little problematic when /home is on a
different partition!

gdm doesnt depend on evolution-data-server, it depends on gnome-shell
(which draws the login screen). evolution-data-server is a hard
dependency of gnome-shell, so you can't remove it.

so it would either require teaching the ubuntu GeoIP server the
Geolocate API or merging ubuntu-geoip directly into geoclue as a
location source.

Laney, I have pushed new branches that fix the depwait.
As far as edubuntu goes, they are using gnome-flashback which switched
to using u-s-d/u-c-c. I don't think g-s-d/g-c-c should even be seeded on
edubuntu. If I am reading the germinate output correctly its being
pulled in by gnome-media,

gnome-flashback sessions) but only recommends gnome-control-center at
the moment. This will cause gnome-control-center (and g-s-d) to get
pulled in when not necessarily required

except that it is more or less obsolete so will only be used with
GNOME2-ish sessions which should all be using unity-control-center

To
gnome-control-center 3.12 (which should land this week in utopic, Bug
1372346), sets NoDisplay=True in all the panel desktop files, so this
patch should not be required.
